The 60th GRAMMY Awards, who should win & who will win?!

The 60th GRAMMY Awards will be held in New York, on January 28th and I think that it's the perfect time to talk about the nominations from this year. The truth is that since the nominees where released, there were a lot of opinions aginst it, because there were some artists that weren't in the list (and others that shouldn't be there , as always). Today, I will tell you who should win and who will win, according to my thoughts, remember this is Jus' Sayingg! (I will choose the 20 most interesting categories)

Album review: Fall Out Boy - M A N I A

Album cover

"MANIA" is the newest album by the American band Fall Out Boy, it was released on January 19th, 2018, and I'm so happy to have new music from one the few bands that I still listen since I was a kid.

First of all, I noticed something very weird about this album and is that, the songs are in a different number of the list according the version, I mean, if you bought it in the digital version (iTunes), the songs follow a different order than in the CD version (example, the first track in digital version is "Young and Menace" and in CD version is "Stay Frosty Royal Milk Tea").

"MANIA" The change
Since they released "Young and Menace" (the first single), I noticed a different sound, which was loved by some and hated for others. In my case, I didn't like it, because from my point of view it sounded as a remix, but not as the "real" version of the song. Now, that the full album has been released and that I can listen to this new concept, I have to say that I still don't like it, because I don't feel it, I just don't vibe with it. However, it's the only song that I could skip from the whole album, because "MANIA" is full of new anthems and bangers.
"MANIA" follows a little bit of the same "formula" from their previous album ("American Beauty/American Psycho", 2015), because it has that "commercial sound" that makes it "radio friendly," you know, it has catchy hooks and electronic sounds that make it sound as pop songs. Personally, I like when bands explore new or different music genres without losing their essence or style. In their case, they still sound like Fall Out Boy, they haven't lose they vibe. An example of how they use a new music genre is the song "Sunshine Riptide" (featuring Burna Boy), which is a mixture between reggae and rock that works very well, because it's a great collaboration and it sounds so good.

As I said, this album has great new songs that sound very fresh. I will start with my favorite track, which is "The Last of the Real Ones", I loved this song because of its explosive rhythm and meaning, it is also part of the epic love songs that "MANIA" has. According to Pete Wentz, "The Last of the Real Ones" is about: "That kind of love you feel for someone because of their glitches not in spite of them..."
The other love song that made think: "This is epic!" was "Church", which through the use of metaphors and religious terms, Patrick sings about worship and unconditional love to a person.
Nevertheless, if you want to rock more "Stay Frosty Royal Milk Tea" is perfect and it's also an empowering song; it talks about resistance and overcoming some problems that we may face. On the other hand, "HOLD ME TIGHT OR DON'T", "Champion", and "Bishops Knife Trick" have remarkable verses and stunning beats.

"MANIA" by Fall Out Boy is an album where we can hear their musical evolution, without losing their unique lyrical style and vibe. Except for "Young and Menace" (from my point of view) each song is unforgettable melodiously and lyrically, probably, the album is not that "solid" about it's concept, but I really liked it.

Fall Out Boy - M A  N   I    A: ★★★★

EP review: The Neighbourhood - To Imagine

EP cover

The Neighbourhood has gave us more music to start the year, the name of their new EP is "To Imagine" and I think that my new favorite song from The NBHD is in this EP.

"To imagine" was released on January 12th, 2018, and according to the band, it is connected with their previous EP "Hard" released on September 22nd in 2017. Since The NBHD released the first single from this EP, I knew that something big was coming.

Let's Imagine!
"To Imagine" has five amazing tracks and I noticed that in this EP, the band have decided to explore different rhythms that their previous EP ("Hard") doesn't have, because the other one has slow down melodies and this new EP is "brighter" and less dark. Rhythmically, it has an "eerie new wave feel, heavy with synthesizers and vintage drum machine sounds."
The first track is "Dust", it talks about global warming and the persistence of humans to destroy the Earth with the endless conflicts among us. In "Dust" Jesse (the singer) uses some effects to distor his voice and making it more "dramatic". After this song, there comes three tracks that are about the same topic, love. The second track is the one that I chose as my favorite one from the EP and my new favorite song from the band. It's titled "Scary Love", which was also the first single, and everything in this song is perfect, the rhythm and the lyrics are very honest and beautiful; it talks about having found that special person, that you know you had good luck to have met him/her (in this case "her").

"Heaven" and "Compass", as I already said, are also about love; however, in the case of "Heaven" it has a mysterious rhythm and in a verse Jesse "raps" and his flow is great (he ususally does that in some other songs from previous albums,EPs or mixtapes). While, "Compass" has a faster rhythm and it is also very catchy and I love its meaning, because it's also very honest and he's saying that his partner is his only compass and without her he would be lost.
The EP ends with "Stuck with Me", this song is mainly about realizing that you are losing some people around you (for different situations); however, he knows that there will be some other people who will be by his side no matter what; it is the most personal and vulnerable song.

Personally, The Neighbourhood is one of my favorite bands ever and every time that they release something new, they manage to catch me with their new songs and rhythms. "To Imagine" has five tracks that i'm sure they will stuck on your mind, because of their lyrics and vintage vibe.

The Neighbourhood - To Imagine: ★★★★

Album Review: Camila Cabello - Camila

Album cover
Camila Cabello's self-titled solo debut album "Camila", was released on January 12th, 2018, and this is the first album review of this new year. It is why I wanted to tell you that in this year the reviews will be a little different. However, they still will be written from my point of view, so let's get into the first review of 2018!

I have to admit that Camila Cabello wasn't one of my favorite singers from 5H, in fact, I used to hate her voice and used to think that she was there just because her physic (she's beautiful). Nevertheless, since she started releaseing her solo singles, I decided to change my thoughts about her and enjoy her music. Now that she has released the full album I can say that Camila is here to stay and she's not playing little games.

"Camila" in general:

"I decided to call it by my name, because this is where this chapter in my life ended. it started with somebody else’s story, it ended with me finding my way back to myself." Said Camila Cabello about her album and I think that what she said is very reflected in the album, because there are songs about love, breakups and friendship, but written since her point of view.
"Camila" is a great debut album and it also sets what she preaches, because it has that Latin rhythms and it's so tropical and warm. I feel like she decided to "follow a path" without exploring new rhythms, because what we can hear in the whole album is what we were expecting from her, but don'r get me wrong I think that it was a good decision.

Camila's sounds:

As I already said, it has tropical and Latin rhythms, while in some songs she mixes the Spanish with English. It's pretty enjoyable and I think that it's so Camila; however (and I have to point it out), there are some songs that could also be interpreted by 5H (I had to say it, sorry).

The album has something that I noticed and I wasn't expecting it, there are several ballads and I thought that it was going to be full of dancefloor songs, but don't get me wrong (again) all of them are great. "All These Years" is a beautiful guitar ballad that talks about an encounter with an ex and it's pretty sad, but at the same time is beautiful, I could describe this song as bittersweat. "Consequences" and "Something's Gotta Give" are both so beautiful; however, "Something's Gotta Give" is the best ballad in the album (according to me), because it's very emotional and all we could relate with its meaning; which is about a break up.
Now let's talk about the bops from this album. I said that it has several ballads, but the few danceable songs are very catchy and cool. The first banger is "She Loves Control", because we cannot deny that it's impossible not to dance to reggaeton beats. The other one is "Havana" (featuring Young Thug) and "Into It", that is the last track.

Well done, Camila, because this debut is great and I think that it will be one of the most successful debuts of this year. My favorite song was "She Loves Control" (sorry, is just that it's pretty cool) and I have to say that my past thoughts about her have gone!

Camila Cabello - Camila: ★★★★

Tell me guys, what was your favorite song from the album? Write it down and let's keep in touch, comment and / or share this blog. It's hard to choose the best one! New year, new videos.

These past two weeks (the first two from this new year) have been full of new music videos, released by our favorite artists. In this following list, I will show you the best six videos that where released from the first day of 2018 to 14th January 2018.

Dua Lipa - IDGAF
Finally, Dua Lipa has released the music video for the single "IDGAF", taken from her self-titled debut album. This song was one of my favorite since I heard it and I'm pretty happy that she realized that it should be a single, becuase everything in this track is perfect. Let's move on to the music video, I think that it's very creative and entertaining, I also liked that she's playing the role of her ex, and the visual effect of two Duas is amazing!

Troye Sivan - My My My!
Troye Sivan has released his new single called "My My My!" and it's fire! The truth is that he is a great singer and his music style is very original, this song shows it and it's very refreshing. The video is cool for the song and I think that the place where it was recorded was perfect for its vibe. He seems to be enjoying his nw song and so do us!

Taylor Swift - End Game (feat. Ed Sheeran & Future)
Taylor Swift keeps releasing music videos and it was the turn for the song "End Game", which is a collaboration with Ed Sheeran and Future. I think that the video doesn't reflects the meaning of the song, it's like just a video where we can notice that Taylor is enjoying this new chapter in her carrer. I liked it, but as I said, it's not like a video where the meaning of the song is explained (from my point of view).

Bruno Mars - Finesse (Remix) [Feat. Cardi B]
Bruno Mars had the greatest idea of inviting the new sensation Cardi B, to make a remix of "Finesse", song that comes in Bruno's latest album (without Cardi B). Personally, I really like this song, because it's so catchy and its old school vibe is so cool. On the other hand, the music video is like a 90s TV show, because of the clothing and scenography; it's pretty fun and it goes perfectly with the song. Well done guys!

Justin Timberlake - Filthy
"Filthy" is the name of Justin Timberlake's newest single, taken from his upcoming studio album "Man of The Woods" and we have to admit that most of us were waiting for this. Let's talk about the song first, "Filthy" is a sexual song with electronic beats. It sounds different, but at the same time it has his vibe. Moving to the music video, Justin is acting like if he were Steve Jobs introducing us to a new robot that moves without the necessity of cables or something similar. I think that the meaning of the video is that, there will be a time where robots will act like humans and they will experiment feelings and emotions as we do. At this point, I'm not pretty sure if I like the song or not, but I think that if I hear it more times, I will get it (or not).

JAY-Z - Family Feud (feat. Beyoncé)
The newest music video by JAY-Z has finally been published in his official Vevo page and this is a collaboration with his wife Beyoncé. In words of JAY-Z, this song is about "separation within the culture. Like, new rappers fighting with old rappers, saying all these things. So, the line is, ‘Nobody wins when the family feuds." The music video is a story where we can see different couples and women talking about different issues. It's kind of long, but it's very entertaining and well, I would say that this is and will be one of his new iconic videos.

Tell me guys, what was your favorite music video? If I had to choose my favorite one from this list, I would choose Bruno Mars' video feauting Cardi B. Please leave a comment and/or share this blog. Remember that the official twitter of this blog is @JusSayinggBlog and Facebook @JusSayinggBlog, also my personal insta is on the left top of this page.

The 20 Best Albums of 2017 (Part 1/2)

Personally, 2017 was an amazing year full of beautiful, complicated, hard, surprising, and thrilling moments that have changed me for life. I will never forget this year, because I had so many moments that I will appreciate until I die. On the other hand, musically it was also an amazing year, because the albums that you will find in the following list have songs that will form part of my life.
I hope you have enjoyed this year for the music and all the good moments that you have had.
Without any more preambles, these are the 20 best albums of 2017 (part one of two) according Jus' Sayingg (the list was created according the date of release from the album).

1. Ed Sheeran - ÷ (divide)

Album cover
"Divide" was released on March 3rd 2017, and since that date this album has successfully be on top of the best of 2017. Frankly, this album is part of several lists of this kind, not because of its success in sales, but because it's full of beautiful and unforgettable songs. Ed Sheeran has a great facility to transforming simple experiences into a songs; however, his speciality are the songs about love. We have to admit that "Divide" has epic love songs. If I should have to select the best tracks from it, "Shape of You" and "Perfect" would be the first of the list.

2. Charli XCX - Number 1 Angel

Mixtape cover
"I just got bored and made a load of songs, so I decided to put them out." Said Charli XCX before releasing this amazing mixtape (independently released album) on March 10th 2017. Personally, I consider Charli as one of the most creative and talented artist of this generation and this mixtape is a great example of it. Each song is so has an amazing production and her talent as songwriter is pretty notorious.  "Number 1 Angel" is full of bangers; such as, "Dreamer" (featuring Starrah and Raye), "3AM (Pull Up)" (featuring MØ), "Emotional", and "Babygirl" (featuring Uffie), just to metion some of them.

3. Tinie Tempah - Youth

Album cover

The third studio album by the British rapper Tinie Tempah was released on April 14th 2017. This album has 17 amazing tracks, where Tinie "wanted to show people a level of excellence… that there is magic within us.” The truth is that he really showed us his magic; however, he asked the help of other artists, because "Youth" has several great collaborations with different artist and each one is fire! His style is pretty original and the beat from the whole album is perfect; personally, I consider it as one of the best hip hop albums of 2017. The best songs are "Not for the Radio" (featuring MNEK), "Text from Your Ex" (featuring Tinashe) and "Girls Like" (featuring Zara Larsson).

4. Kendrick Lamar - DAMN.

Album cover
"It’s about just being an individual and loving everything you do. There was no pressure from no label or nobody." Said Kendrick in an interview about his fourth studio album "DAMN." released on April 14th 2017. What he did with this album is something that will serve as a reference for several rappers, because we cannot deny that the messages and style from this album is unique and beyond amazing. It's full of anthems and empowering tracks; such as, "DNA", "LOYALTY", and the great "HUMBLE." Something that was also notorious in it, is that the album has a more "commercial sound" making it "radio friendly."

5. Gorillaz - Humanz

Album cover

"I see the “z” in Humanz as referring to robots, AI, programming, brainwashing, indoctrination. And it’s a question to us: are we human or are we humanz? " Explained Jamie Hewlett in an interview about this album released on April 28th 2017. This is another example of powerful bands with powerful collaborations, because "Humanz" has several of them with other artists and all of them work so good. As Jamie explained, this album has robotic beats and different interludes that serve to introduce us into their "virtual" world. I noticed that in this album they explored new sounds without loosing their unique style, and that makes it even better! My favorite tracks were "Saturnz Barz" (featuring Popcaan), "Submission" (featuring Danny Brown and Kelela) and "Andromeda" (featuring D.R.A.M.).

6. Paramore - After Laughter

Album cover
"You can run on the fumes of being a teenager for as long as you want, but eventually life hits you real hard." Said the lead singer of the band Hayley and this comment sums up the perfectly the whole album. "After Laughter" is their fourth album and it was released on May 12th 2017. It has a solid concept and it is full of memoreable lyrics blended with 80s vibes. Something that I really admire about Paramore's music is that, they can cover sad songs with "happy rhythms," it's like you can dance while crying of realizing that life's is really hard. I think that we can relate with several of the songs from the album; such as, "Told You So," "Fake Happy" and the amazing "Hard Times."

7. Dua Lipa - Dua Lipa

Album cover

"I want people to see a piece of me. I want people to have an insight into everything that’s happened over the last few years while I was writing the album and actually really get to know me." Said Dua Lipa, one of the most successful new artists of 2017. Her self-titled debut album was released on June 2nd 2017, and since that date she has rising to the point that she has been named the queen of Spotify 2017. Since we heard her hit "Hotter Than Hell", we knew that she was going to be a success and when she released this album, she let us know that Dua Lipa is here to stay! Her powerful voice, her charm, and catchy songs made "Dua Lipa" one of the best albums (and debuts) of 2017.

8. Beth Ditto - Fake Sugar

Album cover

"Sometimes it's just that simple. It made me think of glitter. I really like glitter." Said Beth Ditto about her debut solo album "Fake Sugar" released on June 16th 2017. Some of you may remember her, because she was the lead singer of the band Gossip; however, the band is over and Beth decided to create a new empire. Personally, Beth Ditto has an amazing voice and the music style that she decided to mixed in "Fake Sugar" goes perfectly with her. Her debut album has a big range of music genres incorporated in one album; such as, Southern rock, soul, glam-pop, r&b, and a little bit of dance-pop. The best tracks from it are "Fire," "In and Out," "Fake Sugar," "Go Baby Go," and "Lover."

9. Lorde - Melodrama

Album cover

“a record about being alone… The good parts and the bad parts.” Is what Lorde wanted to reflect in her second album "Melodrama" released on June 16th 2017. "Melodrama" has been on repeat since its release, because of its amazing beats and dramatic lyrics. Lorde has grown a lot musically and this album reflects it. Through 11 tracks, the New Zealand singer shows us what she wrote in solitude, with intelligent verses and dope beats, it's like the perfect combo! It's almost impossible to chose the best tracks on it, because each one is just better that the previous; however, "Green Light", "Sober", "Homemade Dynamite", "Liability", and "Perfect Places" as the most powerful songs on the album.

10. Imagine Dragons - Evolve

Album cover
"So this record, to me, is really a celebration in a lot of ways. It’s an evolution of mind and sonics." Explained the lead singer of the band Dan Reynolds about their third album "Evolve", released on June 23rd 2017. I couldn't be more agree with the title of this album, it's totally an evolution for the band. We can't deny the amazing bops that "Evolve" has.Lyrically, it's not "depressing" and it's more lighter, without losing their unique music style. The whole album is great, but if I had to chose the best tracks "I Don't Know Why" and "Believer" would be on the top of my list.

The 20 Best Albums of 2017 (Part 2/2)

This is the second part of the list "The 20 Best Albums of 2017" according Jus' Sayingg.

11. Calvin Harris - Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1

Album cover
"party like it's 1980" says in the second track ("Cash Out") from the album "Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1" by Calvin Harris, which was released on June 30th 2017. This album has a great 80s vibe and it's full of amazing collaborations and unforgettable songs. Another great thing about it is that, it has the perfect number of tracks, I mean, ten tracks are enough to have a great dose of funk. Lyrically, "Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1" has awesome songs; such as, "Faking It" (featuring Kehlani and Lil Yachty) and "Hard to Love" (featuring Jessie Reyez). On the other hand, if you prefer to dance and enjoy the party, you should play "Cash Out" (featuring Schoolboy Q, PartyNextDoor and DRAM), "Skrt on Me" (featuring Nicki Minaj), and "Feels" (featuring Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry and Big Sean).

12. Mura Masa - Mura Masa

Album cover
"Mura Masa" is the self-titled debut studio album by Mura Masa and it was released on July 14th, 2017. It isn't a surprise that it was nominated for the 60th Annual Grammy Awards (in 2018), because this album is pure fire! It has guest features by ASAP Rocky, Bonzai, Charli XCX, Christine and the Queens, NAO, among others and each track shows an amazing and original music style. It would be difficult to choose just one song, because each one is pretty different sonically and Mura Masa explored several sounds creating a great electronic album. Personally, the best songs are "Messy Love", "1 Night" (featuring Charli XCX) and "All Around the World" (featuring Desiigner).

13. Kesha - Rainbow

Album cover
The most introspective album by Kesha is "Rainbow", which was released on August 11th 2017, after 4-year hiatus without releasing something new. It is also one of her most acclaimed albums so far and in "Ranbow", we can notice how much she has grown and evolved musically, because even when it has the pop that we like from her; she's mixing a little bit of country vibes. Somethings that is very beautiful from this album is that, she had the opportunity to recover from dark moments by writing stunning songs. My favorite songs were "Woman" (featuring The Dap-Kings Horns), "Praying", "Learn to Let Go" and "Hunt You Down".

14. Demi Lovato -  Tell Me You Love Me

Album cover
“I not only love singing it, but I think the underlying meaning is important for people to know. At the end of the day, you have everything you need standing right in front of you. And that’s yourself.” Said Demi explaining the song that has the same name of her album. "Tell me You Love Me" is her sixth studio album and it was released on September 29th 2017. Personally, she has been one of those artists that has grown musically after several albums, because this is her second most acclaimed album (after Confident in 2015). She's a great singer and in this album she explodes more her beautidul voice in songs like "Tell Me You Love Me", "You Don't Do It for Me Anymore" and "Only Forever".

15. P!nk - Beautiful Trauma

Album cover
“life is f*cking traumatic. But it’s also incredibly beautiful…” Said P!nk describing her seventh studio album "Beautiful Trauma", which was released on October 13th 2017. In this album it's very noticiable that she has explored new beats, making songs more dance-pop and electronic; however, she keeps singing about the same topics and as in her previous albums. Songs like "Whatever You Want", "What About Us", "Barbies", and "Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken" are the best from her "Beautiful Trauma".

16. St. Vincent - MASSEDUCTION

Album cover
"This record’s about power, the seduction on a big scale and on a little scale, you know. The political seduction or the sexual seduction or the seduction of chemicals and drugs and all that." Explained St. Vincent about her fifth album "MASSEDUCTION", released on October 13th 2017. We cannot deny her amazing skills as a songwriter and as a guitarrists, this album has the best of electropop and glam rock together, without forgeting her amazing vocals during songs like "Los Ageless", "Happy Birthday, Johnny" and "New York".

17. Taylor Swift - Reputation

Album cover
"Big reputation, big reputation, Ooh, you and me, we got big reputations, ah, And you heard about me, ooh, I got some big enemies (yah), Big reputation" sings Taylor in the song "End Game", from "Reputation" which was released on November 10th 2017. She's has been one of the most successful and controversial artists from this decade; however (and even when I'm not into her music), I have to admit that she's a talented songwriter. It seems that the "country girl" has gone (well, she's dead), because in "Reputation" we can listen to a more electropop Taylor, with dark tracks and catchy ballads. The best songs from this album are "...Ready for It?", "I Did Something Bad" and "Look What You Made Me Do".

18. Paloma Faith - The Architect

Album cover
"I wanted to look at the world around me rather than the world inside my mind..." Said the British artists Paloma Faith about "The Architect", that was released on November 17th 2017. Paloma is one of those singers that always surprises me with fresh and powerful songs, in this album she describes it as a "social observation record," because she sings about socio-political issues instead of focusing in herself (as in her previous albums). Nevertheless, she keeps blessing our life with incredible R&B and soul tracks, where we can notice that she's singing better than ever! My favorite songs were "Crybaby", "Til I'm Done", "Still Around", "WW3" and "My Body".

19. Tove Lo - BLUE LIPS

Album cover
"And in a deeper sense, it’s about never feeling satisfied. I don’t mean sexually; I mean just in life in general." Explained Tove Lo about "Blue Lips (Lady Wood Phase II)", that was released on November 17th 2017. In this album Tove Lo shows a more sexually explicit lyrics with darker beats. This album is has also the last two "chapters," which were "Light Beam" and "Pitch Black". In the first one, Tove Lo sings about "enjoying the lack of responsibilit," while the last one is about the "post-rush come-down, heartbreak." "Blue Lips" has that kind of "nasty" songs that are very beautiful at the same time (in a weird way). My favorite tracks were "She Don't Know but She Knows", "Stranger", "Cycles" and "Struggle".

20. Miguel - War & Leisure

Album cover
"War & Leisure has political undertones, because that’s what life feels like right now. This album is intentionally about the ethos right now, that we are right in the middle of all this." Said Miguel about his fourth studio album "War & Leisure", which was released on December 1st 2017. Almost at the end of this year, Miguel gave us a complete album full of great R&B songs, where he makes us reflect on important issues. It has several songs that are full of reality and that we can relate with. Personally, the best songs are "Criminal" (featuring Rick Ross), "Wolf" (featuring Quiñ), "Told You So" and "Now".

If I had to choose just one of these 20 albums as my favorite/or the best from them, I would choose "Melodrama" by Lorde. Now tell me, what about you? Do you agree with this list? What's your favorite one and why? Did I miss another album? The 10 Best Debut Albums of 2017

2017 has gave us unforgettable moments full of music and new artists who had the opportunity to release their debut album. Something very interesting and weird that I noticed from the following list is that, there are five women and five men on it, it means that there was an equality of new talent. However, what they have in commun is, each one of them had an amazing year and they gave us new tunes to enjoy. So let's get into this list of the 10 best debuts of 2017, according to Jus' Sayingg! (The list was made aacording the date of release of the album)

1. Kehlani - SweetSexySavage

Album cover
"SweetSexySavage" is the debut by the American singer and songwriter Kehlani, which was released on January 27th, 2017. It has great R&B tracks and we can notice her amazing and sweet voice that this young woman has. Even when she's very young, during the whole album she shows us that she is very passionate and mature. The most relevant songs are "Distraction", "Crzy", "Advice", and her first hit "Gangsta".

2. Rag'n'Bone Man - Human

Album cover
With an Amy Winehouse vibe, the R&B and soul album by the British Rag'n'Bone Man called "Human" (released on February 10th, 2017), has been very acclaimed since its released. Rory (his real name) has become one of the breakthrough artists of 2017. His amazing song "Human" has been his first hit, because of its honesty and catchy chorus. We can't deny his powerful voice and the simplicity of his songs that have made this album one of the best debuts.

3. Khalid - American Teen

Album cover
Here it comes another young artist with an amazing debut; Khalid and his album "American Teen" released on March 3rd, 2017, has become one of the best selled albums of 2017, by a new artist. His first world wide hit "Young Dumb & Broke" is part of several lists who named it as one of the best tracks from the year and the truth is, his debut album has very honest tracks and it's pretty solid.

4. Cashmere Cat - 9

Album cover
The debut album by Norwegian DJ Cashmere Cat "9", was released on April 28th, 2017, and it has amazing collaborations and dope beats. His music has a unique style that makes it very original and easy to recognize. "9" as I already said, has amazing collaborations with great singers; for example, "Trust Nobody" (featuring Selena Gomez and Tory Lanez), "Wild Love" (featuring The Weeknd and Francis and the Lights) and "Quit" (featuring Ariana Grande).

5. Harry Styles - Harry Styles

Album cover
"I wanted to write my stories, things that happened to me. The number-one thing was I wanted to be honest. I hadn't done that before." Said Harry about his solo album "Harry Styles", released on May 12th, 2017. Personally, I am not very into his music style; however, with songs like "Sign of the Times", "Sweet Creature", and "Kiwi", Harry Styles managed to get the recognition of several people around the world as one of the best debuts as a solo artists in 2017.

6. Dua Lipa - Dua Lipa

Album cover
This list wouldn't be complete without one of the most successful debuts from 2017, with her debut album released on June 2nd, 2017, titled "Dua Lipa". I can say that since I heard her in the late 2016, I knew that in 2017 she was going to take her crown, so she did. Lyrically, we can hear songs about her personal views of love, sex, and self-empowerment. On the other hand, her beautiful voice is very noticeable in the whole record and we can't deny the hits that can be found in "Dua Lipa". I am pretty sure that this is just the biggining of a great carrer for her.

7. Allie X - CollXtion II

Album cover
“Each song is a piece of me — a memory, a fantasy, reality. The idea is to sort through it all and try to piece it back together,” Said Allie describing "CollXtion II" her debut album, which was released on June 9th, 2017. In this album, she takes us to a synth-pop world full of mysterious treatments and dark moments. I have to say that lyrically, it shows a great creativity from Allie X and musically, it has a pretty unique sound and it's very chill and porwerful at the same time. "Paper Love", "Vintage", "Lifted", and "That's So Us" are the best tracks and the most representative of her music style.

8. SZA - Ctrl

Album cover

Another big debut from 2017 was made by SZA with her album "Ctrl" (pronounced "control"), released on June 9th, 2017. This album was one of the most acclaimed of 2017 and one the best from the R&B and neo soul genre. SZA has a beautiful voice and her relaxing rhythms, are helpful to pay more attention to the powerful lyrics that she sings with her sweet and raspy tone. The whole album is so simple that makes it complex. "Love Galore" (featuring Travis Scott), "The Weekend", and "20 Something" are my favorite.

9. Beth Ditto - Fake Sugar

Album cover

The last woman from this list and, what a woman! Beth Ditto after being the lead singer of the band Gossip, decided to bless our existence with her debut as solo singer. "Fake Sugar" that was released on June 16th, 2017, is the name of her debut album. Incorporating influences from a wide array of genres, Ditto sings about several issues as love and breakups, to mention some of them. I really love the vibe from this album and the power from songs like "In and Out", "Oh My God", and "Lover".

10. Mura Masa - Mura Masa

Album cover
The self-titled debut studio album by Mura Masa was released on July 14th, 2017. After releasing a great collaboration with Charli XCX, Mura Masa gave us 13 amazing tracks full of cool guest features; such as, Desiigner, NAO, Bonzai, among others. The album has a variety of different rhythms, with dope beats and catchy chorus. Of course, "1 Night" (featuring Charli XCX), "All Around the World" (featuring Desiigner), and "What If I Go?" (featuring Bonzai) are my favorite.

If I had to choose just one album from this list as my favorite, I would choose Dua Lipa's album. Now tell me, what about you? Do you agree with this list? What's your favorite one and why? Did I miss another album?
