The 20 Best Albums of 2017 (Part 2/2)

This is the second part of the list "The 20 Best Albums of 2017" according Jus' Sayingg.

11. Calvin Harris - Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1

Album cover
"party like it's 1980" says in the second track ("Cash Out") from the album "Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1" by Calvin Harris, which was released on June 30th 2017. This album has a great 80s vibe and it's full of amazing collaborations and unforgettable songs. Another great thing about it is that, it has the perfect number of tracks, I mean, ten tracks are enough to have a great dose of funk. Lyrically, "Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1" has awesome songs; such as, "Faking It" (featuring Kehlani and Lil Yachty) and "Hard to Love" (featuring Jessie Reyez). On the other hand, if you prefer to dance and enjoy the party, you should play "Cash Out" (featuring Schoolboy Q, PartyNextDoor and DRAM), "Skrt on Me" (featuring Nicki Minaj), and "Feels" (featuring Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry and Big Sean).

12. Mura Masa - Mura Masa

Album cover
"Mura Masa" is the self-titled debut studio album by Mura Masa and it was released on July 14th, 2017. It isn't a surprise that it was nominated for the 60th Annual Grammy Awards (in 2018), because this album is pure fire! It has guest features by ASAP Rocky, Bonzai, Charli XCX, Christine and the Queens, NAO, among others and each track shows an amazing and original music style. It would be difficult to choose just one song, because each one is pretty different sonically and Mura Masa explored several sounds creating a great electronic album. Personally, the best songs are "Messy Love", "1 Night" (featuring Charli XCX) and "All Around the World" (featuring Desiigner).

13. Kesha - Rainbow

Album cover
The most introspective album by Kesha is "Rainbow", which was released on August 11th 2017, after 4-year hiatus without releasing something new. It is also one of her most acclaimed albums so far and in "Ranbow", we can notice how much she has grown and evolved musically, because even when it has the pop that we like from her; she's mixing a little bit of country vibes. Somethings that is very beautiful from this album is that, she had the opportunity to recover from dark moments by writing stunning songs. My favorite songs were "Woman" (featuring The Dap-Kings Horns), "Praying", "Learn to Let Go" and "Hunt You Down".

14. Demi Lovato -  Tell Me You Love Me

Album cover
“I not only love singing it, but I think the underlying meaning is important for people to know. At the end of the day, you have everything you need standing right in front of you. And that’s yourself.” Said Demi explaining the song that has the same name of her album. "Tell me You Love Me" is her sixth studio album and it was released on September 29th 2017. Personally, she has been one of those artists that has grown musically after several albums, because this is her second most acclaimed album (after Confident in 2015). She's a great singer and in this album she explodes more her beautidul voice in songs like "Tell Me You Love Me", "You Don't Do It for Me Anymore" and "Only Forever".

15. P!nk - Beautiful Trauma

Album cover
“life is f*cking traumatic. But it’s also incredibly beautiful…” Said P!nk describing her seventh studio album "Beautiful Trauma", which was released on October 13th 2017. In this album it's very noticiable that she has explored new beats, making songs more dance-pop and electronic; however, she keeps singing about the same topics and as in her previous albums. Songs like "Whatever You Want", "What About Us", "Barbies", and "Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken" are the best from her "Beautiful Trauma".

16. St. Vincent - MASSEDUCTION

Album cover
"This record’s about power, the seduction on a big scale and on a little scale, you know. The political seduction or the sexual seduction or the seduction of chemicals and drugs and all that." Explained St. Vincent about her fifth album "MASSEDUCTION", released on October 13th 2017. We cannot deny her amazing skills as a songwriter and as a guitarrists, this album has the best of electropop and glam rock together, without forgeting her amazing vocals during songs like "Los Ageless", "Happy Birthday, Johnny" and "New York".

17. Taylor Swift - Reputation

Album cover
"Big reputation, big reputation, Ooh, you and me, we got big reputations, ah, And you heard about me, ooh, I got some big enemies (yah), Big reputation" sings Taylor in the song "End Game", from "Reputation" which was released on November 10th 2017. She's has been one of the most successful and controversial artists from this decade; however (and even when I'm not into her music), I have to admit that she's a talented songwriter. It seems that the "country girl" has gone (well, she's dead), because in "Reputation" we can listen to a more electropop Taylor, with dark tracks and catchy ballads. The best songs from this album are "...Ready for It?", "I Did Something Bad" and "Look What You Made Me Do".

18. Paloma Faith - The Architect

Album cover
"I wanted to look at the world around me rather than the world inside my mind..." Said the British artists Paloma Faith about "The Architect", that was released on November 17th 2017. Paloma is one of those singers that always surprises me with fresh and powerful songs, in this album she describes it as a "social observation record," because she sings about socio-political issues instead of focusing in herself (as in her previous albums). Nevertheless, she keeps blessing our life with incredible R&B and soul tracks, where we can notice that she's singing better than ever! My favorite songs were "Crybaby", "Til I'm Done", "Still Around", "WW3" and "My Body".

19. Tove Lo - BLUE LIPS

Album cover
"And in a deeper sense, it’s about never feeling satisfied. I don’t mean sexually; I mean just in life in general." Explained Tove Lo about "Blue Lips (Lady Wood Phase II)", that was released on November 17th 2017. In this album Tove Lo shows a more sexually explicit lyrics with darker beats. This album is has also the last two "chapters," which were "Light Beam" and "Pitch Black". In the first one, Tove Lo sings about "enjoying the lack of responsibilit," while the last one is about the "post-rush come-down, heartbreak." "Blue Lips" has that kind of "nasty" songs that are very beautiful at the same time (in a weird way). My favorite tracks were "She Don't Know but She Knows", "Stranger", "Cycles" and "Struggle".

20. Miguel - War & Leisure

Album cover
"War & Leisure has political undertones, because that’s what life feels like right now. This album is intentionally about the ethos right now, that we are right in the middle of all this." Said Miguel about his fourth studio album "War & Leisure", which was released on December 1st 2017. Almost at the end of this year, Miguel gave us a complete album full of great R&B songs, where he makes us reflect on important issues. It has several songs that are full of reality and that we can relate with. Personally, the best songs are "Criminal" (featuring Rick Ross), "Wolf" (featuring Quiñ), "Told You So" and "Now".

If I had to choose just one of these 20 albums as my favorite/or the best from them, I would choose "Melodrama" by Lorde. Now tell me, what about you? Do you agree with this list? What's your favorite one and why? Did I miss another album? 5 Women VS. 4 Men / Watch these great music videos

Shawn Mendes - Mercy
"Mercy” is the third single from his upcoming second studio album "Illuminate". This pop ballad has a great message, it's about a heartbreak, but I think that rhythmically this song sounds pretty similar to "Treat You Better" and I have to say that I don't like when the songs sound similar, because it's kind of boring. On the other hand, I liked the music video, I think that I understood what he tried to explain us.

"Would you please have mercy on me?
I'm a puppet on your string
And even though you got good intentions
I need you to set me free"

Austin Mahone - Way Up
As all we know, Austin Mahone has been working in new music, thus he released two new song, one of them is "Way Up", for that reason he has decided to publish a lyric video that you can watch now. It sounds like an R&B song and I like the melodie of the song, I think it has nice style. Talking about the lyric video, we can noticed (again), that Austin isn't a little boy anymore, it's a hot lyric video.

"She a bad girl, she slim in the waist
She get what she want cause she pretty in the face
Takin' out her phone and she posin' for the picture
Filter out the things she ain't feelin' in the mirror"

Tom Odell - Here I Am
The English singer-songwriter Tom Odell has published a new music video, this time for the song "Here I Am", taken from his latest album "Wrong Crowd". This is an amazing song, I really loved it, actually the whole album is a masterpiece. The message of the song is so powerful and the music video is perfect for it.

"I walk past your tower block
Saw a flick in the blinds
I said tonight will be different
And that I won't come back"

Fifth Harmony - That's My Girl
The music video for the empowering female anthem "That's My Girl" by Fifth Harmony is pure fire. The song has a great message dedicated to those hard working girls and the beat is pretty cool. However, it reminded me to one of her old songs. Talking about the music video, I think that it's pretty cool, but I'm not sure if it really reflects the message of the lyrics.

"You've been down before
You've been hurt before
You got up before
You'll be good to go, good to go"

Calvin Harris - My Way
"My Way" is the latest single by Calvin Harris, so he published the lyric video. The song is about getting away from something, likely a relationship. The song has a tropical house beat and Calvin is the singer of the song. Calvin Harris explained that the song is about: “breaking out of a situation that you thought was a good thing. Then, you’re way more comfortable out of it.” Somethings is telling me that he's talking about... Taylor Liar Swift? I'm Jus' Sayingg okay.

"Why wait to say, at least I did it my way
Lie awake, two faced
But in my heart I understand
I made my move and it was all about you"

My favorite music video was...

I think that from this list, the best music video is "Here I Am" by Tom Odell. Even when it is kind of "simple" or "repetitive", it matches perfectly the meaning of this amazing song.

What about you guys?! What was your favorite video? Did you liked the newest single by Calvin Harris? Did you already watched Gaga's new video? If didn't, you can watch it here too, just search her name on the list that is on right side of the blog and watch it. Don't forget to follow me on Twitter and Facebook (@JusSayinggBlog).

No Limit or Olé. What's the best video?

Usher - No Limit (ft. Young Thug)
Usher published the music video for "No Limit", his latest single featuring Young Thug. As you know he has been released new music. However, he hasn't said anything about the upcoming album, that would be his eighth studio album. The song sounds good ans it's very catchy, while the video is very similar to all his videos, you know, with dancers and simple backgrounds.

"Make you say uh, no limit
Got that Master P, no limit baby
Give you that black card, no limit
Just know when you roll with a nigga like me"

John Newman - Olé
As all we had noticed, because of some pictures on Insta Calvin Harris and John Newman were working in something new. It was John's newest single called "Olé" and its music video has been published. I have to say that I like John Newman's music style and I think that he's pretty talented. By the other hand, Clavin Harris a great DJ and all his songs are amazing, but this new song is so boring, isn't catchy and its beat is so relaxing, but in a boring way.

"I know, there's no telling how far you can go
And you don't want to hear about my love and my lust
Babe that I have been feeling
I kiss you once, then I stare at the ceiling"

My favorite music video was...

Well, I think that after my comment about John's video is clearly I dislike the song. However, I think that John Newman's video is way better than Usher's "No Limit" video, because it is very simple and all his videos looks the same and even when "Olé" is boring, the music video is better.

But what about you? What is your favorite video? and, what do you think about John Newman's new single "Olé"? Write your comments and visit me daily!

Music video of the day - Hype, Talk or Bury It

1. Dizzee Rascal & Calvin Harris - Hype
Two English boys are together in one song called "Hype". Dizzee that is a rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer and Calvin one of the most famous and greatest DJs, have released this new electronic song, that is made to be the new anthem of the dance-floor. The song is so catchy and the beat is ecstatic. Something that I liked is that, it has a fresh beat that Calvin hadn't done before, with this new sound, he shows me that he's exploring new beats.

"Hype
Every time I'm around there's a hype
Touchdown and the crowd get's hyped
Straight gassed, got the whole place hype
I'm a bad boy and I do what I like"

2. DJ Snake - Talk (ft. George Maple)
This French DJ always make amazing songs and it isn't the exception. "Talk" is a great song, that talks about a person that really wants to have a good relationship with someone else. Talking about the music video, what I understood is that, she found something (in this case a car) that made her feel accompanied, because in the intro of the video, the girl says:

"All my life I thought I was going to be alone, that I was going to be alone until I die. I don't have friends, I don't have family, it's me, in my house, in my work, my life was boring.
I don't like that the people make me feel that I'm crazy! I'm not crazy!"

3. CHVRCHES - Bury It (ft. Hayley Williams)
The Scottish synth-pop band from Glasgow called Chvrches (pronounced and written as "churches" in Roman form), featuring the lead singer (and only) Hayley Williams from one of my favorite rock bands Paramore, have published the music video for their single called "Bury It".
I have to say that even when the synth-pop is one of my favorite music genres, I don't like too much the music style of this band. However, this song is amazing and Hayley is perfect. Furthermore, the music video is pretty entertaining and creative, I loved it.

"I never promised you
Anything I couldn't do
We try to bury it and rise above"

The best music video of the day is...

According to me, the best video of the day is "Bury It", by Chvrches featuring Hayley Williams. As I said before, it is entertaining and creative. However, these three videos are pretty cool, but always has to be one winner, right?

This is just my opinion, what's yours? What is your favorite music video from this list? Commen down below and you can follow me on Twitter, Facobook and in my personal Instagram. I'm Jus' Sayingg.
