The 20 Best Albums of 2018 (Part 1/2)

2018 gave us great albums, which some of them are now part of our favorite-albums-ever-personal-list. I have to admit that 2018 wasn't full of a lot of amazing albums; however, there were more than 20 best albums, but you know, I decided to chose only 20. As I always do, the following list is in date order, it means that, it isn't listed from best to worst or from my favorite to least favorite. I decided to ordenate them, according their released date.

I also want to tell you that I chose these 20 albums following the next points: because of its musical production, if they show an evolution musically (according the artists/band/and so on), and if I really liked it or not.

Without lossing more time, here it is the 20 best albums of 2018, according to JusSayingg:

Kacey Musgraves – Golder Hour

Album cover
Release date: March 30th, 2018
The first album from this list goes to the American country music artist Kacey Musgraves, with one of the most beautiful albums of the year and also more one of the most acclaim. Firstly, I have to tell you that I don't usually listen to country music, but this album cought my attention and I felt like I had to listen it and I did! "Golden Hour" has stunning melodies and harmonizations, well writen songs and Kacey has a smooth voice that I loved. Lyrically, Kacey said that this album sings about her 20s, so you'll listen to love songs, breakups, faith, empowerment, fears, and other issues. I really recommend you to listen to it even if you don't usually hear country music. My favorite song was "Lonely Weekend."

The Weeknd – My Dear Melancholy,

Album cover
Release date: March 30th, 2018
This "mini-album" made by The Weeknd was one of the first albums into pouring fire to 2018. "My Dear Melancholy," is the return to his roots, because it reminded me to his mixtapes's vibes ("House of Balloons," "Thursday," and "Echoes of Silence"), but showing us new beats and that his voice sounds better than ever. This album is brutally honest and we can listen to a hurting Abel singing about what his breakup and all of what it caused on his life. It's a darker, if we compare it to his previous album, but at the same time he explores a little of upbeat sounds, to make it a rollercoaster. My favorite one was "Wasted Times."

Kali Uchis – Isolation

Album cover
Release date: April 6th, 2018
"Isolation" was one of the first albums to be "widespread acclaim from critics," it achieved 87 out of 100! And it was well deserved, because this album is not just one of the best debuts of 2018, but also one of the best revelation artists of the year. Kali Uchis is a Colombian-American singer and songwriter with a stunning voice and retro-style that I love. "Isolation" has 15 killer tracks, where she sings about her life, love, her lifestyle and other "bitchy" issues; believe me, this album is everything. "Tyrant" featuring Jorja Smith is my favorite track.

Janelle Monáe – Dirty Computer

Album cover
Release date: April 27th, 2018
This list wouldn't be complete without Janelle Monáe's masterpiece titled "Dirty Computer." We all know that Janelle is one of the most complete artists from our era and this album proves it, each song is so well writen and produced that is impossible to hate one song. As it should be, "Dirty Computer" is very powerfull, because even when it's a conceptual album, it talks about real issues as sexuality, immigration, love, racism, violence, among others. My favroite track was "Screwed" featuring Zoë Kravitz.

Lykke Li – so sad so sexy

Album cover
Release date: June 8th, 2018
Four years passed in order to have something new by Swedish singer-songwriter Lykke Li. Her fourth album titled "so sad so sexy", where she let us know why she's one of the best "emo" girls. It shows a big evolution musically, without lossing her very unique style and melancholic lyrics; the whole record is very honest, raw, fresh, and dark. I really loved how she explore trap sounds, mixed with her indie vibes, I can describe this album as a "successful mixture of emotions and sounds." I have to admit that was hard to choose just one track as my favorite, but I'll pick "Better Alone" (all songs are iconic!).

The Carters – EVERYTHING IS LOVE

Album cover
Release date: June 16th, 2018
Two giants from the music industry; Beyoncé and Jay-Z, finally together creating a powerful duet (in all aspects), we have to admit that we weren't expecting something like this, but we needed it! We also have to admit that "EVERYTHING IS LOVE" sounds like if Jay-Z would be a collaborator in Beyoncé's album, but that doesn't matter, right? This album in general is about their relationship, leadership and power. It's a well produced record and they let us know why they are who they are (in case you didn't knew it). "Boss" is my favorite song.

Years & Years – Palo Santo

Album cover
Release date: July 6th, 2018
The English trio Years & Years did it again, after having an amazing debut album in 2016, they came back to present us their world "Palo Santo." The whole concept from this album is very creative and entertaining, making it as a whole experience not only to listen to, but also to watch in a short film they created. Musically, this album has less dark beats and it's more brigther, with upbeat songs and beautiful ballads. Lyrically, there are great songs about breakups, new love, confidence, sexuality, and relationships. My favorite one was "Hallelujah."

Capital Cities – Solarize

Album cover
Release date: August 10th, 2018
The American indie-pop duo Capital Cities released their second album titled "Solarize" and I still can't get enough of it! They have a pretty unique style and they coulnd't make a bad song, even if they try to. I truly love how amazingly produced this record is and it's very fresh, without losing their essence. "Solarize" has 15 tracks, where you can sing about love, relationships, and there are some self-empowerment anthems. Musically, it shows an evolution and the result of experimenting with new sounds and instruments, it's very melodic, rhythmic and catchy. My favorite song was "My Name is Mars".

Nicki Minaj – Queen

Album cover
Release date: August 10th, 2018
"Queen" is Minaj's first album in nearly four years and what an album! You could love her or hate her, but what you shouldn't deny are her skills as rapper. Through 19 tracks, Nicki Minaj throw some shades and "the generous queen" mostly focuses rapping about her leadership as one of the most successful female rappers of all the times. On the other hand, it sounds very fresh and there are great collaborations as in my favorite song, which was "Majesty" with Labrinth, featuring Eminem.

Ariana Grande – Sweetener

Album cover

Release date: August 17th, 2018
It's very exciting to witness the evolving of one of the most complete young artists from our times. Since Ariana Grande released her debut album in 2013, she has been gaving us just greatness and bops. "Sweetener" has a very interesting concept, which at first was a little confiusing and for some people "strange," but it's just an example of how Ariana likes to try new things. The album is very experimental and we weren't used to expect somethings like that from Ariana, but I'm so happy that she decided to venture out to explore a different "world." My favorite track was "breathin".

Fairy world or the futuristic land? The best MV of the week!

This week has been full of great songs with great videos, I have chossen the five best videos from this past week (2nd Dic-8th Dic 2017). I will start with my favorite video from the week and why it was the best video.

Björk - utopia

All we know that björk is one of the most creative artists ever and with each album she creates a new world. This music video for her song "utopia" is like an invitation to go to the land of the fairies, because the its relaxing beat and amazing visuals transpor us to another world.

Migos - MotorSport (feat. Nicki Minaj & Cardi B)

Now let's go to a futuristic music video, this time by Migos and two women that are the most famous rappers nowadays; I'm talking about the great Nicki Minaj and the new-famous-rapper Cardi B. The truth is that this song is lit thanks to Nicki and Cardi and they both look so good with their expensive "clothes" (or whatever they are wearing).

Mura Masa - What If I Go?

Mura Masa and his debut album called "Mura Masa" (ha) has published a live music video for the song "What If I Go?" featuring Bonzai (a great singer) and I decided to chose this video for this list, because the song is pretty catchy and Bonzai shows us how she does her thing. The video has parts of his tour and his performances during some music festivals, probably it's not an amazing video, but I like the song and that's it lol.

Jason Derulo - Tip Toe (feat French Montana)

Here it goes another hit-song by Jason Derulo, the video is pretty creative and sexual (yes, another one). The beat of the song is dope and freaking catchy! I'm kind of tired of the same sexual videos that he does, but the rhythm of the song is on point.

R3HAB - Ain't That Why (feat. Krewella)

I really love Krewella's music style and R3HAB has nice beats, but in this new song that mixes the best from these artists, they have created a memorable song. The video has the same style that all the music videos of EDM, that's why it isn't that spectacular as the song. Nevertheless, it deserved to be in this list.

Tell me guys, what was your favorite video from this list? Write down and let's keep in touch. I'm so happy to be back and if you feel the same, please comment and/or share this blog. Emeli Sandé, Shura & DJ Khaled ft. several rappers

Emeli Sandé - Hurts
Emeli Sandé has already published the music video for her newest single Hurts, that serves as the lead single of her upcoming album Long Live the Angels. Hurts is about "the agony of being in love" and Emeli Sandé sounds amazing in this new track. Even when I'm not a big fan, I consider her as one of the best singer right now and she's very talented. Talking about the video, I think it is perfect for the song and its message.

"Baby, I'm not made of stone, it hurts
Loving you the way I do, it hurts
When all that's left to do is watch it burn
Oh baby, I'm not made of stone, it hurts"

Shura - 311215
The English singer, songwriter and producer Shura, has published a new video for the "secret" song 311215, appears at the end of the album version of White Light. Shura said that it is about being: “Worried about my parents dying… and eventually me also.” In the video we can see videotapes of her when she was little, her twin and her parents.

"So take hold of my hand like you never did
Take me back home like you never did
Teach me right from wrong like you never did
And we will be friends like we never were"

DJ Khaled - Do You Mind (ft. Rick Ross, Future, August Alsina, Jeremih, Chris Brown & Nicki Minaj)
The  American record producer, radio personality, DJ and record label executive DJ Khaled, has pulished a new music video featuring several collaborators. The song is called Do You Mind, taken from his latest album Major Key

"Girl we been right here, thinkin' 'bout it all night
Baby you should be up in my bed, ooh
Do you mind, do you mind? Baby you
Do you mind? Do you mind? Do you mind?"

My favorite music video was...

My favorite one was, the video for Hurts by Emeli Sandé, I loved the song and the video is very dramatic and perfect for the song.

What about you guys? What was your favorite music video? Leave a comment here down below and read the other posts. Also, you can follow me on Twitter and Facebook (@JusSayinggBlog).

Nicki Minaj & her freestyle

Nicki Minaj has returned with a new track that she has uploaded to her official Soundcloud, the track is called "The Pinkprint (Freestyle)". This track features  two verses over Young M.A’s “OOOUUU” before the track switches and she interpolates M.I.A.’s “Paper Planes” over an Emperor Ranks sample. I read that Nicki has been thinking in to release a new mixtape, so maybe this track is part of it. I have to say that I really like Nicki's style and I consider her as one of the few great rappers and in this song she states why she's one of the best rappers nowadays.

I will leave the lyrics for you to read it:

Pt. 1

[Intro]
I'm talkin' 'bout my brand and you talkin' 'bout your brands
The difference is a lot of MMMMMMMMMMs to your couple hundred grand
Young Money!
Shout out to Lil Wayne for signing a lil chick from Queens
New York City
[Verse 1]
Young ma, it's the female Jay
I'm a brand accordin' to what retail say
Yeah my tours be sellin' out on presale day
Plus I got the title queen stream, press replay
Testified for my nigga to the DA's face
One time for this super old PA case
I'm still schoolin' bitches like GA State
And I'ma still ball, call me T.D. Jakes
Bars for years, niggas thought I did a bid
I'm draggin' these hoes like Harambe did the kid
Shut the club down, it was poppin' then we slid
I call my pussy liquor, I ain't talkin' 'bout a swig
But if you thirsty, I own a sangria
Shout out to Fox Brown, I don't mean Pam Grier
I got a sign that say "Lames can't hang here"
Bats eyelashes, blank stare
He be like, "You came?," I be like, "You came?"
He say my ride game smoother than a Muslanne
Every time they count me out I be like, "You sane?"
Bitch I come back like Jordan in his flu game
Every time I shoot it, it be all net
I give him ostrich, that mean all neck
Anything he need, I got on deck
And go to sleep playin' with his ballsack

[Verse 2]
Hahahah... Aaaaah! Rrrrrr...
They wanna know my recipe
They know I ball like the niggas at the ES-PYs
Strung out on the pussy so I call her Crystal Methanine
Shorty tryna give me brain like telepathy
Ayo Sinceré, get Chanel bags
Got a bitch lookin' like Chanel ads
Chillin' out in dem Beverly Hill pads
I gave bitches time but they still mad
Si, está loco
If my bitch don't like you, yo tampoco
Me Dorothy and you Toto
Now put some marshmallows in my cocoa
*Sips* Mmm.. Tastes good... Hahah...
Yo, don't ever talk about Nicki in the past-tense
Unless I fly pass that ass in a fast Bent'
Fuck outta here you dumb bitch
You know I'm pretty, and I'm witty, and I'm dumb rich
You throw shade, but I sun bitch
And now you know what I'ma say, you my son, bitch

[Outro]
Yikes, yikes, yikes, yikes...
Keep me rollin', Juice..
Hold on, hold on, keep me rollin' Juiiiiice..
Like I ain't make all these bitches want a fat ass at some point
Hahahahahaaaaa
Like I ain't make these bitches rock pink hair at some point!
Hahahahah! Rrrrr! Oh my God!
Wait, God is good
Lemme, lemme testify, God is good
Shoutout to my fans, I love y'all so much too
I miss y'all so much too
Ooouuu! Hahaha
Ooouuu! Uh!
Like I ain't make a lot of bitches start spitting metaphors and all of that
Mm, queen back...

Pt. 2

[Intro]
Uh, uh, uh, uh ,uh
Turn it up, turn it up in my ear, Juice
Mm, okay, uh, hahahaha, uh
This is only for my bad bitches, okay

[Hook: Shabba Ranks]
Ting-a-ling a ling, dancehall it swing
DJ head stuck up when dem hear boom riddim
Ting-a-ling a ling, schoolbell it ring

Th-this is my reign, que-queen is my name
You, dutty gyal, nuh dare in my lane
Watch unu mouth, wa-watch what unu say

M.I.A., M-M-M-M.I.A., I-I-I make bitches go M.I.A
M.I.A., M.I.A., I make bitches go M.I.A

3 musical bombs: Ariana Grande, Die Antwoord...

Ariana Grande - Side to Side (ft. Nicki Minaj)

The reggae-infused track from the dangerous Ariana, featuring Nicki Minaj has been published (finally) in Ari's official Youtube. This song is pretty catchy and has a great beat and I really like "Side to Side", but what about the music video? It is a well done video, she looks beautiful and sexy and all the dancers are on point. Now, I read some comments down the video saying that she has changed, because she wasn't like this and I agree with them, but if you pay attention to it, you'll noticed that we only see Ariana's face and the bodies that we see, are from the dancers.

"I've been here all night, (Ariana)
I've been here all day, (Nicki Minaj)
And boy, got me walkin' side to side
(Let them hoes know)"

B.o.B - ESCAPE
The rapper B.o.B has published a new music video for the song taken from his latest mixtape "A.I.R". The video is like a mixture of different things, while B.o.B raps about different issues. I really like it, I think that he's a pretty talented rapper and this track is amazing.

Die Antwoord - Banana Brain
Taken from their upcoming album "Mount Ninji and da Nice Time Kid", Die Antwoord have published the music video of their latest single "Banana Brain". This techno song has an amazing beat and the chorus is so catchy. Talkign about the music video  it's so their style, you know, Yolandi running away from her house with Ninja, going to crazy parties with people doing drugs, etc. I have to say that I liked it, it could be very controvertial, but all their music videos are like this.

"Baby boy, you so cool
How can I stay mad at you?
I love you and that's the truth
You so silly, you so stupid"

My favorite video is...

I think that Ariana Grande recorded an pretty cool and sexy video, even when some people may not like it, but for me, it is a great music video.

But what about you? Tell me, what was your favorite video from these three? Leave your comments and visit the other posts. Thank you for visiting me!

Watch again the performances of the VMAs 2016

If you want to relive the performances of the MTV VMAs 2016, that were held live from Madison Square Garden in New York City Sunday night (Aug. 28), you can do it!
One of the most famous music ceremonies are the VMAs, because of its performances and winners, that this time Beyoncé was again the queen of the night winning seven trophies to her kingdom.

Without any more preambles, let's re-watch the performances!

Ariana Grande - "Side to Side" (ft. Nicki Minaj):
I like this song and the performance was good, but she can sing better. I think that she got tired, because of all the exercises that she did at the begining.

Nick Jonas - Bacon (ft. Ty Dolla $ign)
This performance was pretty cool, I mean, he was in a real restaurant! However, he makes weird silly faces when singing.

Britney Spears - Make Me... / Me, Myself & I (ft. G-Eazy):
This performance was very creative, the beginning with shades of the hands was something great, but is always the same with her, you know, she always make lip-sync and that's not cool.

The Chainsmokers - Closer (ft. Halsey)

Future - F**k Up Some Commas

Sadly, Beyoncé and Rihanna haven't uploaded their performances, but don't worry! I'm pretty sure they will do it later, stay tuned.

But tell me, did you liked the VMAs of this year? What performance was your favorite? Leave all your comments and follow me on Facebook and Twitter.

MTV VMA 2016 & the performers are...

The VMAs are going to be celebrated on Sunday, Aug. 29 at 9/8c on MTV and we're very excited to see amazing performances for some of our favorite artists! We know the nominees since several weeks ago, but we want to know some of the performers and the possibles songs that they will sing on one of the most famous stages, the VMAs stage.

First of all, we already know that Troye Sivan will be singing featuring Alessia Cara will perform in the pre-show, that is while the red carpet is held. Of course, "Wild" will be the song that Troye and Alessia will present to us. However, they aren't alone in the pre-show, because there are rumors saying that Jidenna and Lukas Graham will also perform.

What about the performers for the "main show"?!

Well, in the "main stage" we will enjoy an amazing medley by Rihanna! Jesse Ignjatovic (the show's executive producer) told EW that Rihanna will perform “the biggest tracks of her career." Adding, “I can tell you it’s going to be one of those holy crap VMA moments ... She’s not playing. She’s bringing it.” YEAH!!!
Furthermore, Ariana Grande featuring Nicki Minaj will perform "Side to Side", from Ari's latest album and Britney Spears featuring G-Eazy are going to make the show hotter with "Make Me...". But there are a third collaboration, because Nick Jonas will sing "Bacon" featuring Ty Dolla $ign and a four collaboration of The Chainsmokers with Halsey singing "Closer". While, Future will be singing alone (or not). At this point of our lives, this is the full list, but maybe tomorrow more artists will be part of it, you know that MTV always give us unforgettable shows. (Imagine Gaga singing her upcoming new single!)

The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards will be held on August 28, 2016 at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan. Don't lose the show of the month!

What about you people! Are you excited? Who do you want to see performing? Write all your comments here and follow me, also share it if you liked this post!

Animated videos or "normal" videos?

ZHU - Palm of My Hand
The talented ZHU has finally published the music video for one of the sexiest songs from his debut album "Generationwhy" (out now). The animated video for the song "Palm of My Hand" is amazing and for me, it's perfect for this ecstatic song, also it's pretty hot as well.

"J'crois que je poursuis un rêve impossible
J'pense que ça marchera pas mais j'y ai cru quand même
Je me revois, je revois tes yeux, je revois ta bouche, je revois tes cheveux, ton visage"

DJ Mustard - Don't Hurt Me (ft. Nicki Minaj & Jeremih)
The American record producer, songwriter has published his latest music video for his single "Don't Hurt Me", featuring Nicki Minaj and Jeremih. It is also an animated video made by Felix Colgrave and what he did is pretty cool and dope. However, the music video doesn't have any sense with the song, I mean, it seems that I'm watching a music video for other song. While, the song is good.

"Don't hurt me, hurt me, hurt me
You know I like it naughty, naughty, naughty
When they hear me, want that sexy, sexy, sexy
Want lovin' if you let me, let me, let me"

Chris Brown - Grass Ain't Greener
The first single to be released from Chris' ninth album "Heartbreak on a Full Moon" is called "Grass Ain't Greener" and he already released its music video in his official Youtube channel. After 1:30 minutes of conversation, the song starts and Chris shows his best moves. He's a great dancer and I like the beat of this track, I think both are on point.

"My homie said I need to stop it
My momma said bitches be watching you
They gon' put their hand all in your pocket
For the credit card that's in your wallet"

Ellie Goulding - Still Falling For You
"Still Falling For You” is the lead single from the 2016 British romantic comedy "Bridget Jones’s Baby". It seems that Ellie loves to be part of soundtracks for movies, right? This track is a pop ballad (like "Love Me Like You Do") and it's a cool one, while, the music video shows parts of the film and Ellie sings with a screen behind her. It's not an stunning video, but you know is just to promote the movie.

"Your heart got a story with mine
Your heart got me hurting at times
Your heart gave me new kind of highs
Your heart got me feeling so fine"

My favorite music video is:

This is a battle between animated videos and "normal" videos, but this time, I think that my favorite one is the one made by ZHU for the song "Palm of My Hand". Good luck the next time guys!

What about you guys?! What's your favorite video from these four? Do you think it's better an animated or a "normal" video? Talking about the songs of the videos, what was your favorite song? Remember to visit me and follow me in the different streams.
