The 20 Best Albums of 2017 (Part 1/2)

Personally, 2017 was an amazing year full of beautiful, complicated, hard, surprising, and thrilling moments that have changed me for life. I will never forget this year, because I had so many moments that I will appreciate until I die. On the other hand, musically it was also an amazing year, because the albums that you will find in the following list have songs that will form part of my life.
I hope you have enjoyed this year for the music and all the good moments that you have had.
Without any more preambles, these are the 20 best albums of 2017 (part one of two) according Jus' Sayingg (the list was created according the date of release from the album).

1. Ed Sheeran - ÷ (divide)

Album cover
"Divide" was released on March 3rd 2017, and since that date this album has successfully be on top of the best of 2017. Frankly, this album is part of several lists of this kind, not because of its success in sales, but because it's full of beautiful and unforgettable songs. Ed Sheeran has a great facility to transforming simple experiences into a songs; however, his speciality are the songs about love. We have to admit that "Divide" has epic love songs. If I should have to select the best tracks from it, "Shape of You" and "Perfect" would be the first of the list.

2. Charli XCX - Number 1 Angel

Mixtape cover
"I just got bored and made a load of songs, so I decided to put them out." Said Charli XCX before releasing this amazing mixtape (independently released album) on March 10th 2017. Personally, I consider Charli as one of the most creative and talented artist of this generation and this mixtape is a great example of it. Each song is so has an amazing production and her talent as songwriter is pretty notorious.  "Number 1 Angel" is full of bangers; such as, "Dreamer" (featuring Starrah and Raye), "3AM (Pull Up)" (featuring MØ), "Emotional", and "Babygirl" (featuring Uffie), just to metion some of them.

3. Tinie Tempah - Youth

Album cover

The third studio album by the British rapper Tinie Tempah was released on April 14th 2017. This album has 17 amazing tracks, where Tinie "wanted to show people a level of excellence… that there is magic within us.” The truth is that he really showed us his magic; however, he asked the help of other artists, because "Youth" has several great collaborations with different artist and each one is fire! His style is pretty original and the beat from the whole album is perfect; personally, I consider it as one of the best hip hop albums of 2017. The best songs are "Not for the Radio" (featuring MNEK), "Text from Your Ex" (featuring Tinashe) and "Girls Like" (featuring Zara Larsson).

4. Kendrick Lamar - DAMN.

Album cover
"It’s about just being an individual and loving everything you do. There was no pressure from no label or nobody." Said Kendrick in an interview about his fourth studio album "DAMN." released on April 14th 2017. What he did with this album is something that will serve as a reference for several rappers, because we cannot deny that the messages and style from this album is unique and beyond amazing. It's full of anthems and empowering tracks; such as, "DNA", "LOYALTY", and the great "HUMBLE." Something that was also notorious in it, is that the album has a more "commercial sound" making it "radio friendly."

5. Gorillaz - Humanz

Album cover

"I see the “z” in Humanz as referring to robots, AI, programming, brainwashing, indoctrination. And it’s a question to us: are we human or are we humanz? " Explained Jamie Hewlett in an interview about this album released on April 28th 2017. This is another example of powerful bands with powerful collaborations, because "Humanz" has several of them with other artists and all of them work so good. As Jamie explained, this album has robotic beats and different interludes that serve to introduce us into their "virtual" world. I noticed that in this album they explored new sounds without loosing their unique style, and that makes it even better! My favorite tracks were "Saturnz Barz" (featuring Popcaan), "Submission" (featuring Danny Brown and Kelela) and "Andromeda" (featuring D.R.A.M.).

6. Paramore - After Laughter

Album cover
"You can run on the fumes of being a teenager for as long as you want, but eventually life hits you real hard." Said the lead singer of the band Hayley and this comment sums up the perfectly the whole album. "After Laughter" is their fourth album and it was released on May 12th 2017. It has a solid concept and it is full of memoreable lyrics blended with 80s vibes. Something that I really admire about Paramore's music is that, they can cover sad songs with "happy rhythms," it's like you can dance while crying of realizing that life's is really hard. I think that we can relate with several of the songs from the album; such as, "Told You So," "Fake Happy" and the amazing "Hard Times."

7. Dua Lipa - Dua Lipa

Album cover

"I want people to see a piece of me. I want people to have an insight into everything that’s happened over the last few years while I was writing the album and actually really get to know me." Said Dua Lipa, one of the most successful new artists of 2017. Her self-titled debut album was released on June 2nd 2017, and since that date she has rising to the point that she has been named the queen of Spotify 2017. Since we heard her hit "Hotter Than Hell", we knew that she was going to be a success and when she released this album, she let us know that Dua Lipa is here to stay! Her powerful voice, her charm, and catchy songs made "Dua Lipa" one of the best albums (and debuts) of 2017.

8. Beth Ditto - Fake Sugar

Album cover

"Sometimes it's just that simple. It made me think of glitter. I really like glitter." Said Beth Ditto about her debut solo album "Fake Sugar" released on June 16th 2017. Some of you may remember her, because she was the lead singer of the band Gossip; however, the band is over and Beth decided to create a new empire. Personally, Beth Ditto has an amazing voice and the music style that she decided to mixed in "Fake Sugar" goes perfectly with her. Her debut album has a big range of music genres incorporated in one album; such as, Southern rock, soul, glam-pop, r&b, and a little bit of dance-pop. The best tracks from it are "Fire," "In and Out," "Fake Sugar," "Go Baby Go," and "Lover."

9. Lorde - Melodrama

Album cover

“a record about being alone… The good parts and the bad parts.” Is what Lorde wanted to reflect in her second album "Melodrama" released on June 16th 2017. "Melodrama" has been on repeat since its release, because of its amazing beats and dramatic lyrics. Lorde has grown a lot musically and this album reflects it. Through 11 tracks, the New Zealand singer shows us what she wrote in solitude, with intelligent verses and dope beats, it's like the perfect combo! It's almost impossible to chose the best tracks on it, because each one is just better that the previous; however, "Green Light", "Sober", "Homemade Dynamite", "Liability", and "Perfect Places" as the most powerful songs on the album.

10. Imagine Dragons - Evolve

Album cover
"So this record, to me, is really a celebration in a lot of ways. It’s an evolution of mind and sonics." Explained the lead singer of the band Dan Reynolds about their third album "Evolve", released on June 23rd 2017. I couldn't be more agree with the title of this album, it's totally an evolution for the band. We can't deny the amazing bops that "Evolve" has.Lyrically, it's not "depressing" and it's more lighter, without losing their unique music style. The whole album is great, but if I had to chose the best tracks "I Don't Know Why" and "Believer" would be on the top of my list.

The 20 Best Albums of 2017 (Part 2/2)

This is the second part of the list "The 20 Best Albums of 2017" according Jus' Sayingg.

11. Calvin Harris - Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1

Album cover
"party like it's 1980" says in the second track ("Cash Out") from the album "Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1" by Calvin Harris, which was released on June 30th 2017. This album has a great 80s vibe and it's full of amazing collaborations and unforgettable songs. Another great thing about it is that, it has the perfect number of tracks, I mean, ten tracks are enough to have a great dose of funk. Lyrically, "Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1" has awesome songs; such as, "Faking It" (featuring Kehlani and Lil Yachty) and "Hard to Love" (featuring Jessie Reyez). On the other hand, if you prefer to dance and enjoy the party, you should play "Cash Out" (featuring Schoolboy Q, PartyNextDoor and DRAM), "Skrt on Me" (featuring Nicki Minaj), and "Feels" (featuring Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry and Big Sean).

12. Mura Masa - Mura Masa

Album cover
"Mura Masa" is the self-titled debut studio album by Mura Masa and it was released on July 14th, 2017. It isn't a surprise that it was nominated for the 60th Annual Grammy Awards (in 2018), because this album is pure fire! It has guest features by ASAP Rocky, Bonzai, Charli XCX, Christine and the Queens, NAO, among others and each track shows an amazing and original music style. It would be difficult to choose just one song, because each one is pretty different sonically and Mura Masa explored several sounds creating a great electronic album. Personally, the best songs are "Messy Love", "1 Night" (featuring Charli XCX) and "All Around the World" (featuring Desiigner).

13. Kesha - Rainbow

Album cover
The most introspective album by Kesha is "Rainbow", which was released on August 11th 2017, after 4-year hiatus without releasing something new. It is also one of her most acclaimed albums so far and in "Ranbow", we can notice how much she has grown and evolved musically, because even when it has the pop that we like from her; she's mixing a little bit of country vibes. Somethings that is very beautiful from this album is that, she had the opportunity to recover from dark moments by writing stunning songs. My favorite songs were "Woman" (featuring The Dap-Kings Horns), "Praying", "Learn to Let Go" and "Hunt You Down".

14. Demi Lovato -  Tell Me You Love Me

Album cover
“I not only love singing it, but I think the underlying meaning is important for people to know. At the end of the day, you have everything you need standing right in front of you. And that’s yourself.” Said Demi explaining the song that has the same name of her album. "Tell me You Love Me" is her sixth studio album and it was released on September 29th 2017. Personally, she has been one of those artists that has grown musically after several albums, because this is her second most acclaimed album (after Confident in 2015). She's a great singer and in this album she explodes more her beautidul voice in songs like "Tell Me You Love Me", "You Don't Do It for Me Anymore" and "Only Forever".

15. P!nk - Beautiful Trauma

Album cover
“life is f*cking traumatic. But it’s also incredibly beautiful…” Said P!nk describing her seventh studio album "Beautiful Trauma", which was released on October 13th 2017. In this album it's very noticiable that she has explored new beats, making songs more dance-pop and electronic; however, she keeps singing about the same topics and as in her previous albums. Songs like "Whatever You Want", "What About Us", "Barbies", and "Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken" are the best from her "Beautiful Trauma".

16. St. Vincent - MASSEDUCTION

Album cover
"This record’s about power, the seduction on a big scale and on a little scale, you know. The political seduction or the sexual seduction or the seduction of chemicals and drugs and all that." Explained St. Vincent about her fifth album "MASSEDUCTION", released on October 13th 2017. We cannot deny her amazing skills as a songwriter and as a guitarrists, this album has the best of electropop and glam rock together, without forgeting her amazing vocals during songs like "Los Ageless", "Happy Birthday, Johnny" and "New York".

17. Taylor Swift - Reputation

Album cover
"Big reputation, big reputation, Ooh, you and me, we got big reputations, ah, And you heard about me, ooh, I got some big enemies (yah), Big reputation" sings Taylor in the song "End Game", from "Reputation" which was released on November 10th 2017. She's has been one of the most successful and controversial artists from this decade; however (and even when I'm not into her music), I have to admit that she's a talented songwriter. It seems that the "country girl" has gone (well, she's dead), because in "Reputation" we can listen to a more electropop Taylor, with dark tracks and catchy ballads. The best songs from this album are "...Ready for It?", "I Did Something Bad" and "Look What You Made Me Do".

18. Paloma Faith - The Architect

Album cover
"I wanted to look at the world around me rather than the world inside my mind..." Said the British artists Paloma Faith about "The Architect", that was released on November 17th 2017. Paloma is one of those singers that always surprises me with fresh and powerful songs, in this album she describes it as a "social observation record," because she sings about socio-political issues instead of focusing in herself (as in her previous albums). Nevertheless, she keeps blessing our life with incredible R&B and soul tracks, where we can notice that she's singing better than ever! My favorite songs were "Crybaby", "Til I'm Done", "Still Around", "WW3" and "My Body".

19. Tove Lo - BLUE LIPS

Album cover
"And in a deeper sense, it’s about never feeling satisfied. I don’t mean sexually; I mean just in life in general." Explained Tove Lo about "Blue Lips (Lady Wood Phase II)", that was released on November 17th 2017. In this album Tove Lo shows a more sexually explicit lyrics with darker beats. This album is has also the last two "chapters," which were "Light Beam" and "Pitch Black". In the first one, Tove Lo sings about "enjoying the lack of responsibilit," while the last one is about the "post-rush come-down, heartbreak." "Blue Lips" has that kind of "nasty" songs that are very beautiful at the same time (in a weird way). My favorite tracks were "She Don't Know but She Knows", "Stranger", "Cycles" and "Struggle".

20. Miguel - War & Leisure

Album cover
"War & Leisure has political undertones, because that’s what life feels like right now. This album is intentionally about the ethos right now, that we are right in the middle of all this." Said Miguel about his fourth studio album "War & Leisure", which was released on December 1st 2017. Almost at the end of this year, Miguel gave us a complete album full of great R&B songs, where he makes us reflect on important issues. It has several songs that are full of reality and that we can relate with. Personally, the best songs are "Criminal" (featuring Rick Ross), "Wolf" (featuring Quiñ), "Told You So" and "Now".

If I had to choose just one of these 20 albums as my favorite/or the best from them, I would choose "Melodrama" by Lorde. Now tell me, what about you? Do you agree with this list? What's your favorite one and why? Did I miss another album? The 10 Best Debut Albums of 2017

2017 has gave us unforgettable moments full of music and new artists who had the opportunity to release their debut album. Something very interesting and weird that I noticed from the following list is that, there are five women and five men on it, it means that there was an equality of new talent. However, what they have in commun is, each one of them had an amazing year and they gave us new tunes to enjoy. So let's get into this list of the 10 best debuts of 2017, according to Jus' Sayingg! (The list was made aacording the date of release of the album)

1. Kehlani - SweetSexySavage

Album cover
"SweetSexySavage" is the debut by the American singer and songwriter Kehlani, which was released on January 27th, 2017. It has great R&B tracks and we can notice her amazing and sweet voice that this young woman has. Even when she's very young, during the whole album she shows us that she is very passionate and mature. The most relevant songs are "Distraction", "Crzy", "Advice", and her first hit "Gangsta".

2. Rag'n'Bone Man - Human

Album cover
With an Amy Winehouse vibe, the R&B and soul album by the British Rag'n'Bone Man called "Human" (released on February 10th, 2017), has been very acclaimed since its released. Rory (his real name) has become one of the breakthrough artists of 2017. His amazing song "Human" has been his first hit, because of its honesty and catchy chorus. We can't deny his powerful voice and the simplicity of his songs that have made this album one of the best debuts.

3. Khalid - American Teen

Album cover
Here it comes another young artist with an amazing debut; Khalid and his album "American Teen" released on March 3rd, 2017, has become one of the best selled albums of 2017, by a new artist. His first world wide hit "Young Dumb & Broke" is part of several lists who named it as one of the best tracks from the year and the truth is, his debut album has very honest tracks and it's pretty solid.

4. Cashmere Cat - 9

Album cover
The debut album by Norwegian DJ Cashmere Cat "9", was released on April 28th, 2017, and it has amazing collaborations and dope beats. His music has a unique style that makes it very original and easy to recognize. "9" as I already said, has amazing collaborations with great singers; for example, "Trust Nobody" (featuring Selena Gomez and Tory Lanez), "Wild Love" (featuring The Weeknd and Francis and the Lights) and "Quit" (featuring Ariana Grande).

5. Harry Styles - Harry Styles

Album cover
"I wanted to write my stories, things that happened to me. The number-one thing was I wanted to be honest. I hadn't done that before." Said Harry about his solo album "Harry Styles", released on May 12th, 2017. Personally, I am not very into his music style; however, with songs like "Sign of the Times", "Sweet Creature", and "Kiwi", Harry Styles managed to get the recognition of several people around the world as one of the best debuts as a solo artists in 2017.

6. Dua Lipa - Dua Lipa

Album cover
This list wouldn't be complete without one of the most successful debuts from 2017, with her debut album released on June 2nd, 2017, titled "Dua Lipa". I can say that since I heard her in the late 2016, I knew that in 2017 she was going to take her crown, so she did. Lyrically, we can hear songs about her personal views of love, sex, and self-empowerment. On the other hand, her beautiful voice is very noticeable in the whole record and we can't deny the hits that can be found in "Dua Lipa". I am pretty sure that this is just the biggining of a great carrer for her.

7. Allie X - CollXtion II

Album cover
“Each song is a piece of me — a memory, a fantasy, reality. The idea is to sort through it all and try to piece it back together,” Said Allie describing "CollXtion II" her debut album, which was released on June 9th, 2017. In this album, she takes us to a synth-pop world full of mysterious treatments and dark moments. I have to say that lyrically, it shows a great creativity from Allie X and musically, it has a pretty unique sound and it's very chill and porwerful at the same time. "Paper Love", "Vintage", "Lifted", and "That's So Us" are the best tracks and the most representative of her music style.

8. SZA - Ctrl

Album cover

Another big debut from 2017 was made by SZA with her album "Ctrl" (pronounced "control"), released on June 9th, 2017. This album was one of the most acclaimed of 2017 and one the best from the R&B and neo soul genre. SZA has a beautiful voice and her relaxing rhythms, are helpful to pay more attention to the powerful lyrics that she sings with her sweet and raspy tone. The whole album is so simple that makes it complex. "Love Galore" (featuring Travis Scott), "The Weekend", and "20 Something" are my favorite.

9. Beth Ditto - Fake Sugar

Album cover

The last woman from this list and, what a woman! Beth Ditto after being the lead singer of the band Gossip, decided to bless our existence with her debut as solo singer. "Fake Sugar" that was released on June 16th, 2017, is the name of her debut album. Incorporating influences from a wide array of genres, Ditto sings about several issues as love and breakups, to mention some of them. I really love the vibe from this album and the power from songs like "In and Out", "Oh My God", and "Lover".

10. Mura Masa - Mura Masa

Album cover
The self-titled debut studio album by Mura Masa was released on July 14th, 2017. After releasing a great collaboration with Charli XCX, Mura Masa gave us 13 amazing tracks full of cool guest features; such as, Desiigner, NAO, Bonzai, among others. The album has a variety of different rhythms, with dope beats and catchy chorus. Of course, "1 Night" (featuring Charli XCX), "All Around the World" (featuring Desiigner), and "What If I Go?" (featuring Bonzai) are my favorite.

If I had to choose just one album from this list as my favorite, I would choose Dua Lipa's album. Now tell me, what about you? Do you agree with this list? What's your favorite one and why? Did I miss another album? Mixtape Review: Charli XCX - Pop 2

Mixtape cover

The incredible Charli XCX has gave us a new mixtape (yes, a second one!). "Pop 2" (released on December 15th, 2017) its name and I don't understand how just one girl can create such bops at an early age! The best thing about it, is that she isn't alone, because the whole mixtape is full of dope collaborations.

First of all, what is a mixtape? "the term mixtape is used to describe certain types of recordings, typically self-produced and independently released albums, that are issued free of charge to gain publicity or circumvent possible copyright infringement." (Wikipedia, n. d.)
Clarified that point, let's start with its review and let me tell you that I have some relevant things to say about it. First, I thought that "Pop 2"wasn't going to be as lit as her previous mixtape "Number 1 Angel" released in March 10th, 2017, but I was wrong.

In general, this new mixtape is more electronic and with more collaborations, so its power is double! Charli knows how to write real party and love anthems, mixed with the most crazy beats. "Pop 2" has ten tracks and each one is so unique, but at the same time it's a solid mixtape. The first track is "Backseat" featuring Carly Rae Jepsen, in this song she talks about trying to ignore the coments from people and herselve, saying that her relationship is bad; I have to say that Carly's voice sounds good with Charli. "Out of My Head" (featuring Alma and Tove Lo) was a great surprise, because they three are friends and it's the first time that are together in one song and let me tell you that together, they are pure fire. In this song, they talk about an obsessive love that a girl could feel by a guy.
Even when most of the songs have danceable beats, there are a few electro ballads; for example, "Lucky" where she sings with a robotized voice, "Tears" (featuring Caroline Polachek) and the last song titled "Track 10," where she sings about being tied to a stormy relationship that she can not leave; musically, it has vocal effects and in some parts the beat goes up.

"Sorry, I'm a little scared
But no one ever really cared
I took you for granted
Just a big misunderstandin'"

Charli XCX
I have to tell you that I heard this mixtape in my stereo and it was freaking awesome! I mean, the bass from the whole songs sounded so cool; however, the songs that I most enjoyed were "I Got It" featuring Brooke Candy, Cupcakke and Pabllo Vittar; which is also very electronic and robotic, "Femmebot" featuring Dorian Electra and Mykki Blanco; where Charli compares herself to the functions a robot has when she's in love. Now I will talk about my favorite song that was "Unlock It" (featuring Kim Petras and Jay Park), I really like the flow of the intro where she says: "Lock it, lock it, lock-lock it, lock it, lock it. Unlock it Got the key can you unlock it?" It's like my favorite part, but I also like that she's very creative writing song, I don't understand how she create dope lyrics.

Almost at the end, there's the second collaboration that she does with MØ. The song is called "Porsche" that is a sad song, because she knows that her guy is liying to her and she tries to cover the noise of her tears by the sound of the Porsche.
I wanted to end the review with the most hot song that was "Delicious" (featuring Tommy Cash), it talks about her desire of being with her boy and touch his "treasure." Musically, this song is a bop and there's is a verse where Charli's voice have an effect and it sounds so good!

"Pop 2" by Charli XCX is totally and album that will make you cry by her sad lyrics while you dance, because we can't deny that each song is a bop! This is how you end a year, giving an amazing mixtape that will serve as the playlist for all the parties that are about to start.

Charli XCX - Pop 2: ★★★★★
My favorite song: "Unlock It" (featuring Kim Petras & Jay Park)

Tell me guys, what was your favorite song from the album? Write it down and let's keep in touch. I'm so happy to be back and if you feel the same, please comment and / or share this blog. Choose your new anthem: Love or Breakup song?

These five songs where the most powerful that I found in this past week (10th-16eh Dec. 2017) and it was expected, because Charli XCX, Anne-Marie, The Neighbourhood, BØRNS, Camila Cabello and Grey are here in this list. Listen songs about breakups, love and fight and choose the best one.

Charli XCX - Unlock It (feat. Kim Petras & Jay Park)
This track from her latest mixtape is so catchy and cool, it's my favorite one from "Pop 2" and it's a love song. She's telling to that boy that if he wants her love, he has to "unlock it;" definetelly, she's talking about her heart.

Anne-Marie - Then
This is a sad song and even when its rhythm invited me to dance, I couldn't do it, because of its meaning. "Then" is another breakup song, she loves her partner, but she's realazing that he doesn't feel the same and she´s giving him up. It's a beautiful song and Anne-Marie is very talented. I really liked this song.

The Neighbourhood - Stuck with Me
The NBHD is giving us more great new songs and this new one is so fresh for my ears; musically, it has a different style that I wasn't expecting, but it sounds great. Lyrically, well all we know that this band always have that mellancolic songs and this one is one of them. I think that it's about realizing that his relationship is not working and he's lossing hope to changing himselve, because he knows that relationship is over.

BØRNS - I Don't Want U Back
This track will come in his upcoming album "Blue Madonna" (available on January 12th, 2018) and even when I'm not into his music, I have to say that I'm tempted into listen to his upcoming album, because of this song. It has like an 80s vibe and this song is also about a breakup, he knows that his parner is chetting on him.

Camila Cabello & Grey - Crown
“Crown” is a song from the soundtrack of Bright, a Netflix thriller starring Will Smith, Joel Edgerton, and Noomi Rapace. The movie will be released worldwide on December 22nd, 2017. This songs has like an Arabic vibe and Camila's voice sounds perfect in this track. The song is about fighting for what she deserves, in this case, she's faiting for the crown. It has a great beat, I think it was a good collaboration betweem her amd Grey.

Tell me guys, what was your favorite song? Write it down and let's keep in touch. I'm so happy to be back and if you feel the same, please comment and / or share this blog. Remember that the official twitter of this blog is @JusSayinggBlog and Facebook @JusSayinggBlog also my staff is on the left top of this page. Thanks for still been here and see you later with new posts!

Album Review: INNA - Nirvana

Album cover
The Rumanian dance-queen has released her new album titled "Nirvana," (released on December 11th, 2017) it has 12 tracks and three of them are in her native tongue (Rumanian, just to make it clear, hahaha), so here it is my review about it.

I listen to INNA's music since her big debut in 2009, so I can say that I have seen her evolution as singer and I know very well how her music style has evolved. For that reason, I have to say that "Nirvana" doesn't show a difference of what we have been listening in the last years. I could say that "Nirvana" is like the second part of her previous album released in 2015 called "INNA." However, in "Nirvana" she is using more the tropical sound of the trumpets and also back-voices as part of the beat in most of the tracks. Even when she's not propossing something new musically, this album is lit and there are a lot of bops!

As she has been doing it in her previous albums, in "Nirvana" she keeps mixing the use of Spanish with English (Spanglish as we call it in Mexico) in several songs. The examples of it are the songs; "Ruleta" (in English roulette) featuring Erik, which is the first track off the album, "Don't Mind," "Tropical" and in the title single "Nirvana." All these past songs that I mentioned are so danceable and have catchy chorus, but I have to say that musically "Tropical" is pretty cool. INNA loves to sing about party and love, so this album is about it.
My favorite track was "Hands Up," because the chorus has a nice flow and I really like its beat, it's impossible not to dance and hum it. In this song she sings about enjoying the party while she's looking for her crush.

"Step by step, I got you breaking
Walls up high but Imma pull them down
Take that heart and make it vacant, baby
Gotta surrender yourself to the bounce"

INNA

If you remember, I said that the use of trompets is very noticeable in this album; well, "My Dreams" has a great beat and it talks about dreaming about her crush and not wanting to waking up. Another wind instrument that I heard is in the song "Lights," and it sounds like a flut, this song also has a different beat in comparasion with the other tracks and the flute gives like a Japanese vibe. The last track in English is "Dream About the Ocean," where INNA sings about thinking about the ocean, in order to de-stress.
The last three tracks are collabarations (except the track 11) with other Rumanian artists. It is the first time that she includes two tracks that "aren't her songs," because in "Nota de plată" and "Tu și eu" INNA is the collaborator. The truth is that Rumanian language sounds pretty exotic and beautiful, by its sound it reminded me to Portuguese.

INNA is a great singer and her talent always is the first thing that shines in her albums. In "Nirvana" she keeps giving us tropical vibes through the use of trumpets and a dose of mystery with the use of back-voices in her new songs.

My favorite song: "Hands Up"
INNA - Nirvana: ★★★★

Let's go to new places by watching these great music videos!

This past week (10th-16th Dec. 2017) has been full with great music videos; however, I have chosen the best five, because they were creative and/or entertaining and because of its song. Now is your turn to tell me what was your favorite one, you'll find videos by Major Lazer, LION BABE, Sean Paul, Poppy, and Nick Jonas.

Major Lazer - Buscando Huellas (feat. J Balvin & Sean Paul)
All we know that Major Lazer is a great project, which always give us amazing songs, "Buscando Huellas" is a song that comes in the latest EP "Know No Better." I have to admit that I really like this song, not because is in Spanish, but because it has a great message and I like its beat. Talking about the video, it's pretty cool and futuristic; however, I don't think that it shows what the song is about.

LION BABE - Rockets (feat. Moe Moks)
Lion Babe comes back around with a groovy lounge song titled "Rockets" featuring Moe Moks. This song will be part of their upcoming EP, which is set to be released this new year and I can't wait, because their debut album was lit! Let's talk about this music video, I have to say that the song has a great vibe, but the video is fire! Girls dancing naked, people enjoying in the party, costumes and pure good stuff, are part of this great video.

Poppy - Bleach Blonde Baby
"Bleach Blonde Baby" is the new single that Poppy released taken from her debut album "Poppy.Computer." This song talks about how perfect she is and that she was born flawless, so the video has to be a lot with the meaning of the song. She's in a "church" preaching it and well, it's so Poppy. For those who may know her style, she's very robotic and mysterious with her visual art and this is another example of what she does.

Sean Paul - Rolling (feat. Shenseea)
Here it comes another banger by Sean Paul, this time featuring a new artist (at least for me) called Shenseea. All we know that Sean make always that kind of songs that make us dance and this new is like that. Talking about the video, it's creative and entertaining, but it follows the same style of all his videos. I don't even have to explain, just watch it and you'll know what I was talking about.

Nick Jonas - Home
"Ferdinand" is an animated movie that was released on December 10th, 2017, and "Home" is part of its soundtrack. Well, let me tell you that this song has been nominated for a Golden Globe as "Best Original Song" and I guess that Nick is pretty excited about it. The music video shows part of the movie and Nick singing bullring; personally, I didn't like the song, but congratulatios for your nomination, Nick!

EP review: Qveen Herby - EP 2

EP cover
Qveen Herby has been killing it since Amy Renee (the girl from Karmin) had the idea of recreating herself. Her "EP 2" has five tracks and with each one of them, she is building her throne and the whole empire! It was released on December 1st, 2017 and it has some new iconic tracks.

Her "EP 1" which was released in this same year, is one of those EPs that cannot be compared nor outdone; however, this new EP is made me say "Qveen is here to stay centuries!" Believe me. In the first track, qveen is telling to her man that he is with a keeper and that she's the boss and what she wants and needs. If we talk about its sound, "Wifey" (the first track) and "Bank" (featuring Maliibu Miitch & Monogem) have like an Egyptian vibe, because she's a Qveen and well, Cleopatra was a badass queen as Herby (my example is great, did you notice it? hahaha).

In the top of this EP  goes the third track titled "Holiday," because it is like the anthem that I never wrote, but it wasn't necessary, because Herby did it for me. This song has a different sound, like a little bit more pop, but she keeps that r&b vibe. The truth is that it has some memorable verses and it's so catchy that it will be stuck on my mind for the following years. It is now one of my anthems until I die, just check it out to the chorus (well, part of it):

"I need a holiday
I been goin' hard like there's somethin' wrong with me
Book a flight for Miami, day
I'll lay around by the beach naked"

Almost at the end it comes "Well Dressed" where she's telling us that she is so fav and a "well dressed mothafucka'" its beat is more dark and her vocals are great. Sadly, this EP just have five tracks, but it ends with a bop! It was the first single from it and its name is "Love Myself." I have to admit that it was my favorite song, but "Holiday" got the place (but it's so near). Nevertheless, this last song is so cool that if I were a singer I would like to stole it and make it mine. It has unforgettable parts and I love how the piano sounds, it's just an iconic song!

Now you already know what I think about Qveen Herby's "EP 2" and if you haven't heard it for some weird reason, listen it now! And also buy it, I mean, it's pretty cool and if you want to be a cool mothefvcker, it has to be part of your playlist.

Tell me guys, what was your favorite song from the EP? Write it down and let's keep in touch. I'm so happy to be back and if you feel the same, please comment and/or share this blog.
