K of Kerli and Korn

Kerli - Diamond Hard
The Estonian recording artist and songwriter Kerli has published a new music video, this time for her newest single "Diamond Hard". I like her music videos, because are very entertaining and creatives, this one is great too. However, this new song is kind of boring.
"Diamond Hard is an audiovisual story about true strength and resilience. Appropriately, this is the first release for which I both produced the music and directed the video on my own, marking an important milestone in my journey as an artist.” Said Kerli about it and you can watch it and tell if you liked it or not.

"My skin is soft like velvet but my nails are razor sharp
My scent is sweet like honey but I am diamond hard
My ways they cut through plastic, rust free my golden heart
This shit is so bombastic, yeah I am diamond hard"

Korn - Rotting In Vain
"Rotting In Vain" is the newest single from their upcoming album "The Serenity Of Suffering", that will be available on October 21s, 2016. I have to say that I don't usually listen to Korn's music, but this song is great, I like it message and it really sounds good. I read some comments about the video and the people are very excited, because this song sounds like they used to sound a few years ago, they returned to their roots

"I wouldn't be angry if things would stay the same
You're fighting the torment that helps me feed my pain
The suffering is fading, I scream into the sky
Repulsion invades me, I say goodbye"

The video of the day is...

I think that I liked Korn's music video.

10 best songs by Amy Winehouse

Amy Jade Winehouse or better known just as Amy Winehouse, was an English singer and songwriter, who (sadly) today is serving five years of her death. On July 23th, 2011, the amazing singer was found dead in her London apartment at the age of 27, after a drawn battle against addictions and substance abuse.

Personally, I wasn't an Amy's fan when she was alive, maybe because I was younger and her music was not very "appealing" to me. However, when I saw her documentary film "Amy" in February of this year, I realized of many things about her life, even I can say that I felt somehow identified with her and her way of see life. She was truly an artist in every way, she was so genuine, so honest, very hilarious, but also was very unconfiden; I think that it was the reason of her lost, because when  you don't value yourself, you become an easy person to be influenced by bad people and / or complicated situations. That was what happened to her, she was looking for love and she thought she had found it in a person who wasn't the correct (that's what I think about Blake Fielder, her husband).
I've always thought that if I had the opportunity to "revive" to someone, I would give a second chance to Amy Winehouse.

After this "introducction", I will do a list of her ten best songs, according to me:

10. Amy Winehouse - Fuck Me Pumps (From her debut album "Frank" released in 2003):

9. Amy Winehouse - Take The Box (From her debut album "Frank" released in 2003):

8. Amy Winehouse - To Know Him Is To Love Him (From second album "Back to Black" deluxe edition released in 2006):

7. Amy Winehouse - Love Is A Losing Game (From second album "Back to Black" released in 2006):

6. Amy Winehouse - You Sent Me Flying / Cherry (From her debut album "Frank" released in 2003):

5. Amy Winehouse - Tears Dry On Their Own (From second album "Back to Black" released in 2006):

4. Amy Winehouse - Stronger Than Me (From her debut album "Frank" released in 2003):

3.  Amy Winehouse - Rehab (From second album "Back to Black" released in 2006):

2. Amy Winehouse - You Know I'm No Good (From second album "Back to Black" released in 2006):

1. Amy Winehouse - Back To Black (From second album "Back to Black" released in 2006):

She left a big legacy of amazing songs and she will never be replaced. Rest in peace Amy Winehouse.

Hi readers! I would like to know if you liked this top ten, also let me know what is your favorite song from this list and all what you want to tell me about it, write it here and also follow me on Twitter and Facebook for more interesting posts. Love is Love, Troye Sivan & Tegan and Sara show it!

Troye Sivan - WILD (ft. Alessia Cara)
The South African-born Australian singer, songwriter, actor, and YouTuber Troye Sivan has published the music video for the new version of his song "WILD", featuring the Canadian singer Alessia Cara.  I liked this new version, Alessia gives it a great vibe and the music video is great for the message of the song, which Sivan described in the Advocate as such: “I feel like gay relationships are sexualized in the media and I just wanted to show a romantic, adorable, puppy love situation between two little boys because that’s something we never ever see.”

"Leave this blue neighbourhood
Never knew loving could hurt this good, oh
And it drives me wild
Cause when you look like that
I've never ever wanted to be so bad, oh"

Tegan and Sara - BWU
The Canadian indie pop duo Tegan and Sara have published the music video for "BWU", song taken from their latest album "Love You to Death". The music video is great and they try to explain us that you can express your love to somebody else without needing it to be validated through the institution of marriage.

"I love you
I don't need a ring to
Prove that you're worthy
You're under my skin"

The video of the day is...

Is hard to choose just one, because both are great. However, Tegan and Sara did an amazing music video for their song. Congrats girls!

What about you guys?! What was your favorite video? It's just my opinion, but I would like to know yours, write here and follow me on Twitter and Facebook, also you can share this post with friends.

Electronic beats everywhere! Die Antwoord, Major Lazer & Skrillex!

DIE ANTWOORD - BANANA BRAIN
"MOUNT NINJI AND DA NICE TIME KID" is the title of the forrd studio album by the South African rap-rave group Die Antwoord, it will be released on September 19th, 2016 and you can pre-order it now. I have to say that I relly like their music style and I have to admit that I have heard their two last albums and I know how they sound. "Banana Brain" is a techno song with an amazing beat and it's so catchy, something that caught my eye is that the song is 100% in English, something that isn't very usual, because they mix English with their native tongue.
I'm excited for their upcoming album, I don't know why but I think it will be the shit!

"Baby girl, you're so fine
So, so fine, you blow my mind
Look at you, coochie coo
Juicy, tushy, gushy, goo
Boobie one, boobie two
Bouncing like a Looney Tune"

Major Lazer - Cold Water (feat. Justin Bieber & MØ)
As all we know, Major Lazer was going to release a new song featuring Justin Bieber, taken from Major's upcoming album, so the song has been released today with its lyric video. What we didn't know (at least me) was that MØ was going to be in the song too! Well, I already heard it and I liked it, I'm a big fan of Major Lazer and I was waiting for more new music and "Cold Water" is a pretty cool song about banding together to face adversity. Justin Bieber and MØ sound great together, this song has been made to be the summer hit.

"Cause we all get lost sometimes, you know?
It's how we learn and how we grow
And I wanna lay with you 'til I'm old
You shouldn't be fighting on your own"

Skrillex - Purple Lamborghini (feat. Rick Ross)
Skrillex has released "Purple Lamborghini" featuring the rapper Rick Ross, the song is part of the "Suicide Squad" soundtrack. I have to say that it has the Skrillex's dope vibe and Rick sounds great. However, it isn't my favorite of the day.

"Biggest boss and I been the trillest
I'm a bigger problem when I click with Skrillex
Murder on my mind, it's time to pray to God
My revolver is that religion's the revolution's bond"

My favorite song is...

I have to say that it wasn't difficult to choose my favorite one. The winner song was, the newest single by Die Antwoord "Banana Brain". I love techno music and with this new single, I noticed that this duo is exploring new beats and that's great!

That's was my opinion, but wha't about you guys! What is your favorite song from these three? Write your comments and tell me your opinion.

From indie to rock, from 5SOS to Steve Aoki!

Catfish and the Bottlemen - Twice
British indie rock band, formed in Llandudno, Wales in 2007 have published the music video for their latest single "Twice", song taken from their second studio album called "The Ride", released on May 27th of this year. The music video is basic, but the song isn't, I loved its rebel message and it sounds great.

"Christ, I ain't ever going back to thinking straight
Cause twice, twice it brought me down
But it's the last time"

Steve Aoki & Reid Stefan - Bring The Funk Back
Steve and Reid have published the music video for the song "Bring The Funk Back", that is also the chapter number three of four videos that will be in total. Down the music video they wrote the following explanation:
"This track in its stages had been developed all across the USA and Canada to Ibiza and back to our LA stomping grounds at Dim Mak studios to top it off. Road tested and ready for play. Hope you enjoy. And as for our video segment we introduce Trev for Chapter 3."
Talking about this new song, it is a dupstep, trap, bass and house track, that will blow your mind, it's a pretty cool new song.

5 Seconds of Summer - Girls Talk Boys
“Girls talk boys,” is featured on the soundtrack of "Ghostbusters". I liked this song, it sounds so different to all their songs, it sounds like a pop rock song and the melodie is pretty "funky". While, the music video follows the thematic of the movie and it's pretty funny. Well done guys.

"Cause every night you and I find ourselves
Kissing and touching like no one else
Falling and falling until I fell
For you"

Skylar Grey - Off Road
"Off Road" is the latest single taken from her upcoming studio album, that will be released in Fall 2016. Tyler Shields shot the “Off Road” music video using the Samsung Gear 360, a 360-degree camera that captures footage with two 195-degree hemispheres. However, I have to say that I don't like this kind os music video, where you have to move the picture to see what happens on it, but this one is great, becuas we can see her in different parts not only in one place (that usually this videos are made just in one place) and the message of this song is great!

"I'm always Looking for an adventure
Let's go somewhere we both haven't been
I need a change of scenery
I'm sick of lookin' at the same old shit"

Jarryd James - 1000x (ft. Broods)
Jarryd James Klapper is an Australian alternative pop singer-songwriter and producer, better known as Jarryd James. He has published the music video for his latest single "1000x", which features vocals from Georgia Nott of New Zealand duo Broods. The song is an electro-pop ballad, that has melancholy message and the video is perfect for the song.

"In another lifetime
I would never change my mind
I would do it again
Ooh, a thousand times"

The music video of the day is...

Personally, 5 Seconds of Summer did an amazing music video for "Girls Talk Boys", that is also a good song. I liked it, because is very creative, entertaining and funny.

But tell me. What was your favorite music video from this list? Leave your comments and let's keep in touch, follow me on Twitter, Fcaebook, Instagram, etc. Also visit me daily and share this blog with friends.

Remix battle: Into You or We Don't Talk Anymore

Ariana Grande - Into You (Tom Ferry Remix)
The British DJ Tom Ferry has released one remix for Ariana Grande's latest single "Into You", from her newest album "Dangerous Woman". I have to say that "Into You" is one of my favorites songs from the album and Tom Ferry has made a great remix, it sounds truly different from the real version, that is something important if you want to create a good remix. This is a house remix of the song that in its original version which is electro-dance. I really liked this remix, take a listen!

"I'm so into you, I can barely breathe
And all I wanna do is to fall in deep
But close ain't close enough 'til we cross the line, hey...
So name a game to play, and I'll roll the dice, hey"

Charlie Puth - We Don't Talk Anymore (feat. Selena Gomez) [Junge Junge Remix]
A new remix from Charlie Puth's latest single "We Don't Talk Anymore", featuring Selena Gomez has released and the it was made by Junge Junge.
This is a great song by itself and this remix is amazing, it has a relaxing beat and I really liked it.

"I just heard you found the one you've been looking
You've been looking for
I wish I would have known that wasn't me
Cause even after all this time I still wonder"

My favorite remix is...

Both DJs did a great remix, but Tom Ferry with the remix of "Into You" is way better.

What about you? Who did a better remix, Tom Ferry or Junge Junge? What is your favorite song "Into You" or "We Don't Talk Anymore"? Write here your comment and follow me on Twitter and Facebook to have  a better interaction with me.

My Collection: Rihanna - Unapologetic

Today is Thursday of "My Collection" and I decided to talk about the Grammy winner album for Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 2014 ceremony.

Unapologetic is the seventh studio album by Barbadian singer Rihanna. It was released on November 19th, 2012.

Top songs: "Diamonds", "Stay" (featuring Mikky Ekko), "Pour It Up"

My favorite song: "Lost in Paradise"

I listen to Rihanna's music since I was a child. I remeber that the first song that I heard was "Pon de Replay", when I was in elementary school! And I still remember the day when I saw the music video in the house of one of my classmates of elementary school. Since that day, Rihanna has been part of my life and playlist.
I'm that kind of person that loves to buy CDs and Rihanna is part of my collection. "Unapologetic" isn't the only Rihanna's album that I have. However, it was the first Rihanna's album that I bought and it is the deluxe version, which has three bonus tracks and one DVD that is the "First Look: 2012 Loud Tour Live at the O2" (That i also have).

"Unapologetic" is mainly a pop and R&B album that incorporates elements of dubstep, hip hop, EDM and reggae. Personally, it is one of her more complex albums, talking about the music genres that were mixed on it. I remember that the first time that I heard the whole album in my stereo, at the end of listen it, I was like "it doesn't sound to Rihanna", I was kind of confused, because "Talk That Talk" (released before "Unapologetic") was more pop and less "dark" in sounds than this one, so I have to say that at first I hadn't liked it. However, and as I always say, if you want to understand the concept of an album, you have to listen it more of three times, not only once.

The most vulnerable track are "What Now" and "Stay" featuring Mikky Ekko. Where we can hear a melancholic Rihanna singing about one of the hardest and complex feelings, that is love. Maybe the lighter song is "Right Now" a collaboration with David Guetta, that is also the only electronic song, because in general, this album talks about, spend money, drugs, heartbreaks and confidence.

It is a great album, it isn't easy to understand, but once you get it, you love it.

I want to know. Do you like this album? What is you favorite song from "Unapologetic"? Do you like to buy CDs? Write all your comments here and follow me on Twitter, Facebook, etc.

Cher Lloyd has been Activated!

Single cover
Finally! Cher Lloyd has returned and she's "getting activated". The English singer, songwriter, rapper, and model, that rose to fame in 2010 when she finished fourth in the seventh series of The X Factor has released a new song called "Activated". This new single serveas as the first single from her upcoming third studio album, which its  date is unknown for the moment. But at least we can listen to a new song, right?

"Activated" is an R&B song, where we can listen to a confident Cher, who is ready to return to the spotlight. I really like her voice and music style, I think that it's very sassy and honest and I have to say that her last two albums were part of my playlist, so I know how her music sounds like and "Activated" is so "Cher Lloyd". I liked it and I'm excited to hear more of her new music. (I will write the lyrics of the song down)

What about you people? Did you liked this new song? Do you like Cher Lloyd's style? Are you excited for her upcoming album? Write your comments down below and follow me on Twitter and Facebook for a better communication with me.

Lyrics:

[Intro]:
Oooh.... (I'm charged up, I'm getting activated)
Oooh.... (I'm charged up, I'm getting activated)

[Verse 1]:
Heads high, came up with a no-no-no-no
Inside, that's how we be
Inside, tell 'em we don't wanna follow
Let 'em talk, let 'em talk, 'bout me
No fucks, swinging from the balcony with
Two cups, one in each hand
So up, tell the DJ hit the button
Load it up, load it up, my man
[Pre-Chorus]:
Leave me unattended, I'm an animal
Juice and gin, I'm mixin' all my chemicals
Uh-uh-uh-uh, I'm running out of syllables
1, 2, 3, 4 I'm about to let it go

[Chorus]:
They like ooh they like ooh like ooh
Baby, just wait I'm in
When I do the damn thing, just watch me
When I do the damn thing, just watch me
They like ooh they like ooh like ooh
I wanna put my hands on you
When I do the damn thing, just watch me
When I do the damn thing, just watch me

[Interlude]:
Oooh.... (I'm charged up, I'm getting activated)
Oooh.... (I'm charged up, I'm getting activated)

[Verse 2]:
Gold links, that's what I call chain reaction
Don't think, we gon't slow down
This drink threw me the automatic
Rippin' up, rippin' up, like [trash/ciao?]
Vroom...They don't see me comin'!
They don't see me comin'!
Vroom...They don't see me comin'!
They don't see me comin'!

[Pre-Chorus]:
Leave me unattended, I'm an animal
Juice and gin, I'm mixin' all my chemicals
Uh-uh-uh-uh, I'm running out of syllables
1, 2, 3, 4 I'm about to let it go

[Chorus]:
They like ooh they like ooh like ooh
Baby, just wait I'm in
When I do the damn thing, just watch me
When I do the damn thing, just watch me
They like ooh they like ooh like ooh
I wanna put my hands on you
When I do the damn thing, just watch me
When I do the damn thing, just watch me

[Bridge]:
They like ooh they like ooh like ooh
Baby, just wait I'm in
When I do the damn thing, just watch me
When I do the damn thing, just watch me

Oooh.... (I'm charged up, I'm getting activated)

Upcoming Album: DJ Snake - Encore

Album cover

Three amazing videos, just one winner.

Yellow Claw - Invitation (feat. Yade Lauren)
The DJ duo from Amsterdam, Yellow Claw have published the music video for their latest single "Invitation", featuring Yade Lauren. It is the first song that I hear from this duo and it's great! Yade's voice is beautiful and the beat is perfect to dance in the club. Talking about the music video, it is on point and Yade looks gorgeous and the Eiffel Tower is the perfect background for this song.

"Everybody needs that one good fire in their life
And if you wanna burn I got the light
Let my body be your guide
Watch your breathing sync with mine"

Grouplove - Welcome To Your Life
The indie rock band Grouplove have released "Welcome To Your Life", the first single from their upcoming third studio album called "Big Mess" to be released this year. I like their music style and I love the message of this song, it's great! At first the song sounds kind of electro-pop, but when the chorus begins their "hippie" vibe explodes.

"Welcome to your life, yeah, yeah
It could be a fantasy, yeah, yeah
Welcome to your world, my girl
Let it be your fantasy, oh yeah"

Shawn Mendes - Ruin
The Canadian singer and songwriter has released a new song from his upcoming second album, the song is called "Ruin" and he also published the music video of the song. This new song is a ballad, where Shawn shows us that he can sings and he do it great. On the other hand, the black and white video is kind of simple, but I think that it's okay for the song.

"But darling, don't you know that I'm the only one for you?
And I'm not tryna ruin your happiness baby
But darling, don't you know that I'm the only one? Yeah"

The music video of the day is...

Personally, the best music video between these three is "Invitation" (feat. Yade Lauren) by Yellow Claw. The song and video are amazing, I liked the Yade looked very sofisticated in the whole video and I loved the song, I think that I'm a new fan of Yellow Claw.

R&B, Rock & Electronic music! The best is...

Tinashe - Superlove
Finally! Tinashe has returned with more new music, this time "Superlove" is the name of her newest single. As all you know, Tinashe is going to release her second studio album "Joyride" this year (I hope so). Well, this new song is anuptempo R&B and Hip-Hop crossover, that sounds pretty different from her music, so I'm pretty sure that her new album will have a variety of different sounds and rhythms. I read some comment about "Superlove" and it has comments for and against, personally, I liked it, yes it's different, but I like it.

"I'm sophisticated, super classy, Uncle Luke, freak, nasty
I'm tryna make you my baby daddy
Got me bouncing on it, I'm acrobatic
You got me riding on that, riding on that, grinding up in this bitch"

Young the Giant - Jungle Youth
This amazing alternative rock band keeps releasing new songs from their upcoming third studio album "Home of the Strange". I really like their music style and this song is powerful. I have to say this song reminded me slightly to Imagine Dragons style, but just a little. However, its message is great.

"I woke in a fever taste the blood in my mouth
My eyes grew shiny purple and I'm riddled with doubt
It feels so peculiar, boiling hot in my soul
Farewell transmission: not made for this world"

Justice - Safe And Sound
The French Grammy-award winning electronic music duo Justice, have released a new track after five years of "resting". "Safe And Sound" is the name of this new  nu-disco song, it has a 80s vibe because of the violins and bass, it has short line of lyrics that are repeated several times. This is the first song that I heard from these French and I liked it, even when this song reminded me to Daft Punk's style.

"Man up
Hold tight
Driving dark
Head up
Foot down
Speed of sound
Time's up
Kick start
Keep on track
Flags out
Sit back
Safe and sound"

My favorite song is...

I know that the three songs are very different to each other, because are three different music genres. However, my favorite song is "Safe and Sound" by Justice. It's the first song that I hear from this duo and I think that I will be waiting for their upcoming third studeio album.

But my mind says... What's my favorite one?

Demi Lovato - Body Say
As all we know, Demi Lovato release a new song called "Body Say" a few weeks ago and now we can listen the official audio on her official Youtube. I have to say that I hadn't heard it before (because of different reasons), but now that I heard it, I can tell you that it's a good song, lyrically it's more sexual that her last songs. However, if it is the first single from her upcoming sixth album, it wasn't her best decision. "Body Say" sounds more like a promotional single not as the lead single, it isn't powerful enought.

"You can touch me with slow hands
Speed it up, baby, make me sweat
Dreamland, take me there cause I want your sex
If my body had a say, I wouldn't turn away"

ZHU - Palm of My Hand
This is one of the promotional singles from ZHU's upcoming debut album "Generationwhy". It is mainly an instrumental song and it sounds great! It begins with an ecstatic guitar solo and almost at the end of the track you will liste to woman speaking in French. Sadly I don't speak French, but I translated what she says and it gave me the idea that the song is about an impossible love. I'm very excited for this new album, because ZHU has a unique beat that I really like.

"Tout ce que tu avais à faire c'était de me dire de rester
Mais tu es reparti, puis tu es revenu et puis tu es reparti et puis tu es revenu
Encore et encore et à chaque fois c'est la même chose
Tout ce que tu avais à faire c'était de me dire de rester et je serai rester"

"All you had to do was tell me to stay
But you're gone, and then you came back and then you're gone and then you're back
Again and again and each time it's the same
All you had to do was tell me to stay and I will stay"

My favorite song is...

I think that my favorite one this time is Demi's newest single, even when it isn't an "incredible" song, I like how her voice sounds and now I'm wondering how her upcoming album will sound like.

Album Review: Shura - Nothing's Real

Album cover
The British '80s-inspired synth-pop musician Shura has released her debut album called "Nothing's Real", it was released on July 8th, 2016 and today, I will give my review about this original album.

The first Shura's song that I heard was "Make It Up", that it's part of this album and with that song, she caught me with her 80s vibe. I have to admit that the first time that I heard the whole album, I wasn't sure if it was a good album or not. However, after four times listening to this album, I understood the idea of this cool concept that Shura has created.

"Nothing's Real" features 13 tracks and as I said before, it has an 80s vibe and it's pure synth-pop. After the intro "(i)", the second track is “Nothing’s Real” it sets the synth-pop tone of the album. In general, most of the tracks have fast melodies, except three ballads: "Touch", "2Shy" and  "Kidz 'N' Stuff", this last one is connected with the following song that is "Indecision" and the transition sounds pretty cool. "Nothing's Real" is mainly about heartbreaks, breakups and frustrations of unreciprocated love, actually, my favorite song is about this last one issue.
My favorite song was "Tongue Tied", I love its mesage, the rhythm is amazing  and I feel very related to this track. I don't  want to explain its message, just read it ( and if you can listen it):

"And you're always on my mind
(Don't wanna be)
I see the answer in your eyes
But you need a reason why
(Don't wanna be)
I'd rather lose it all for you
Than regret things I didn't do
Don't wanna be alone
Cause you're what I want"

It's a masterpiece, isn't it? My favorite song is followed by "Make It Up" (the first song that I heard). Which has an interesting story behind: "Shura had just been broken up with and had to go home in a separate direction to her now ex girlfriend. She was crying on the tube and no one noticed… or they were to awkward to reach out. She felt like I was outside of herself."

I really liked this album, I loved its vibe and the songs are amazing. Shura has made one of the best debut albums from the year and she deserves your attention. If you don't know her, is never too late to do it, you won't regret it. If you like synth-pop and 80s music, Shura is perfect for you.

Shura - Nothing's Real (Album): ★★★★★

I said that it was going to be an interactive blog, so please write your comments and let's talk about it. Do you like Shura's music style? Did you already listen to this album? What was your favorite song?

Make Me... Vs. Rise! The best song is...

Britney Spears and Katy Perry have released a new song today! Yes, the same day! Actually Britney released her new single yesterday at night. However, everybody are listening to the songs today and I noticed that the people are comparing both songs, so I will give my opinion about which is better. Alfabetically the first song is...

Britney Spears - Make Me... (ft. G-Eazy)
As all we know, Britney is working in her upcoming ninth studio album, after "Britney Jean" released in 2013. Personally, I don't like too much her music, but she's a great performace and her songs are always in the spotlight. Talking about her newest single "Maje Me...", featuring G-Eazy I have to say that the first time that I herad it, I was like "It's okay", but every time that I listen to a new song, I try to listen it several times in order to know if I like it or not, in this case, after five time listening "Make Me...", I liked it and even I started to sing some parts of it, maybe it isn't the best song to dance in the club, but it's catchy and great to listen in the car while taking a ride (or if you want to make naughty things).

"By the way I see you starin’ ‘cross the room, baby
No shame in the game
Just cut the sh!t, be honest
Yeah, you know what you gotta do tonight, do tonight"

Katy Perry - Rise
"I am honored that NBC Olympics has chosen to use it as an anthem before and during the Rio Games." Said Katy Perry about this new song, that also will be part of her upcoming album. "Rise" is totally a different song in compared to Britney's song. "Rise" is about hope and fight and always give your best. I read some comments of the song that said: "Katy hasn't grown as an artist in 4 years, this song could easily fit on Teenage dream". I don't know if I agree or disagree with it, because even when I like the message of "Rise", the rhythm of this ballad and the melody isn't very different of her past songs. Even though, it is a beautiful song.

"When, when the fire's at my feet again
And the vultures all start circling
They're whispering, "you're out of time."
But still, I rise"

"Make Me..." Or "Rise", sex or hope, Britney or Katy? It is kind of difficult to choose one song, when both are the opposite. However, I think that Britney Spears really wants to return to stay with this new song, so personally, "Make Me..." featuring G-Eazy is slightly better than "Rise".
